Has there been a worse exaggeration than "Brook exposed Golovkin?"

    I ask this question seriously.

The fight did not last 5 full rounds. I had it 2 rounds a piece and the 5th obviously going to Golovkin before it was stopped. Yes, Brook is an elite fighter, although probably not an elite middleweight. Even though he outweighed Golovkin at the weigh-in and on fight night, he is still the "smaller" guy. Brook is indeed a big welterweight though. He has fast hands and great boxing skill and did land some clean leather on Golovkin. However, is it not abundantly clear Golovkin just stormed forward and wanted to KO him? Seriously he was stalking Brook the entire fight and trying to stop him, which he did. I cannot think of another example of someone breaking another guys face then being called "exposed".

I also find it odd how Canelo fans like to say this, yet ignore the fact that Khan was outboxing Canelo (disgraceful scorecards) before he was KO'd. That is somehow different? This isn't even supposed to be a Canelo-GGG debate, but I seem to notice it is only one group of fans (along with TMT idiots) who believe this.

SIDE NOTE: I think Jacobs losing a close decision to Golovkin also feeds into this "Brook exposed him" nonsense. Ignoring the fact that Jacobs has 2 inches and 10 pounds on Golovkin and is the world #2 Middleweight.

I mean, those were all very competitive fights. But mainly just Mexicans and Mayweather fans clamoring robbery because Marquez got knocked down 5 times during their 4 fights.

Golovkin would fight anyone between 154-168
Golovkin would KO anyone between 160-175
    Golovkin would KO HWs
Golovkin is greater than Hopkins and Hagler

hearn went full ****** on this one. congratulating himself on making the deal of the year which involves sending one of the best 147 fighters (whose career under matchroom has gone nowhere) out to a living monster two weights above for his first time at that weight, then watches him get his face smashed in and broken within the first minute.

"wow, brook really had triple g scared there. exposed him completely!"

I agree. Whenever I hear someone claim that Brook did real good in that fight I just sort of raise and eyebrow and move on.

Golovkin walked right through Brook and made him quit like a *****. Heck of an exposing if you ask me.

I don't think Brook exposed Golovkin by any stretch of the imagination, but he made Golovkin look human, unlike the other low tier fighters we were accustomed to seeing against GGG.

What it answered was what most of us knew, that as he moved up in quality of opposition, Golovkin would not be as dominant. Just imagine if Brook was a true MW, and had been adapted to fighting against MWs. The fight may have turned out differently. Once GGG fought a decent man his own size, he had a very tough time and can be argued that he may have lost.

I think it's because you have a different understanding of "exposed" than those claiming Brook exposed Golovkin. You can KO your opponent and still be exposed in the process. We saw he can't box as well as Brook so he resorted to his size advantage.

Golovkin let him off the hook in round 1 when Brook was moved around by a body shot.

Brook exposed a flaw in Golovkin's game. When an opponent is throwing punches, GGG just backs up with the high guard. He doesn't throw with you. GGG waits his turn to throw back. We saw glimpse of this in the Monroe fight. Brook made it very clear. Jacobs even more so.

Its simply a flaw in Golovkins game. His outright domination of nearly every other opponent hid this flaw. Perfect example is the Murray fight where after round 3 you saw Murray lose every single round as he had his back to the ropes getting beat up. Hard to see GGGs flaws when he was in fights like that.

Brook exposed certain weaknesses in that fight but by no means did he "expose completely" Golovkin. He beat Golovkin in the center of the ring, he often countered and outsmarted Golovkin. Golovkin's success came from cutting the ring and pinning Brook against the ropes, then imposing his size and power.
