Has there even been a fighter like Jeff Lacy before he fought Calzaghe?

The guy was the Super Middle weight version of a 86-88 Mike Tyson.

The performace Joe put on is one of the best all round performances ever seen.

You would never realise how good he looked if you only saw the calzaghe fight, he was a little monster in his early fights. shows the difference in levels though.

I still remember him winding up a big right hand in the first round only to be wobbled by a quick calzaghe counter-left, all went down-hill from there.

Lacey wasn't a super middleweight version of anybody.

He barely made if past Omar Sheika:deal

it was a little silly how they called him "a young mike tyson" given that he was 29 :nut

You must not remember a Prime Lacy.

He electrified boxing the way Tyson did. He was heralded as "The Young Mike Tyson".

    Joe ruined him.

If it was not for Joe he would have went on to be undefeated.

Why hasn't anyone done this thread before?!!! Lacy once cured our family cat of cancer with one well-placed left hook.

The momment Calzaghe destroyed Lacy, as per usual people rewrote the history of Jeff Lacy saying how he was overrated and one dimensional, the same people who weeks earlier had been building him up to the next boxing phenomenom.

I strongly feel had he taken a longer road, tutored better he could have developed into the fighter many hyped him to be. Instead his KO's took him straight to the top and unfortunately into the ring with one of the best boxers of the current era. The damage done in that fight effectively finished his career.

Prime Lacy barely made it by Omar Sheika.

He didn't electrify boxing the way Tyson did....NOBODY EVEN KNEW WHO HE WAS.:deal
