Has there even been a fighter like Jeff Lacy before he fought Calzaghe?

I'm sorry. I didn't mean in terms of ability. I meant in terms of hype and to an extent, intimidation. He was never going to be as talented as Tyson, but he was being sold as such.

 

Umm no he didn't fight anyone that good and barely beat Omar Sheika, plus he didnt look 1% as quick or skilled as Mike, but he did have nice muscles if thats what you meant (no homo)

 

What makes you think he was significantly worse? The Reid win seemed excellent at the time but Reid was past it and was unprepared having trained in his hotel room instead of a proper gym, Froch would stop Reid too

I think he may have been past his best. That Russian gatekeeper gave him problems before and after though. An old smaller Vanderpool outboxed him for periods. A C LEvel Sheika gave him a life and death fight. And Jermaine Taylor used to toy with him in sparring by all accounts.

Calzaghe himself said 'Kessler should be allot better than Lacy' and didnt rate the American

I don't think Lacy would ever beat a shot Jones Jr, especially as he was reliant on the left hook, no way he lands a left hook before Roy
