    That was a beauty.

Ali would have landed three or four though. Floyd's determination not to be hit, which is absolutely valid, means he is more limited on offence than some of his more aggressive predecessors.

It's cost them in health too. Mcgrain, you've put together good ATG list as seen in the past. Where would you rank him now?

36 year old heavyweight Ali from the Leon Spinks fights would've thrown and landed a four punch combination? GTFO. If you compare things, you gotta compare them fairly, and remember that Mayweather is getting old. There were many times in the fight where I noticed how Floyd has slowed down when compared to how he fought earlier in his carreer. A few times there were split seconds where I tought he would've landed one or two right there if he was 23 himself. That's not him being limited, that's him getting older.

I'm not sure tbh. On the one hand, I rate that win, and I loved that performance and he's at a point in his career where every valid opponent dispatched enhances his ranking. I think that was worth at least a spot. Still forties. But he doesn't show any sign that he won't be boxing in three years, does he?

    No. You alright there?

Toney is better at counterpunching. Floyd is the better all-around boxer tho

Marquez isn't even in Floyd's league. Rigondeaux is skill wise.

i agree , floyd and rigo counter beautifully without getting hit whilst marquez is an aggressive combination counterpuncher who gets tagged here and there

Tough to call as their are only a handful that are still active today that really concentrate on the art of counter punching as a main weapon. I though Swe pea was an awesome counter puncher so was Calderon and Benitez. Rigo is an awesome technician with great countering ability. I also rate Lara up there....I can think of some more less known fighters but I don't want anyone spending their day on youtube looking for examples lol

How can people compare Floyd to Ali?

Ali did things Floyd did as a heavyweight. People have to put that weight on limbs. Ali was beautiful. Somewhere on this forum or in my bookmarks there is a photo I couldn't save to my hard drive of Ali's triiceps. His aesthetics were second to none.
