I did one last year, asking his fans why he was so special and beloved to them, that generally went well and I actually got some very enlightening answers. IMO, Rocky represents a time and a place and a way of life that people romanticize, but actually never really existed in the way they think it did, but folks will fight with every fiber of their being to keep from giving up that which they romanticize. He also reflects a story of determination and perseverance and prevailing against the odds that appeals to people.
