Has there ever been a fight where you felt worried for one fighter's health before it even started?

All true. But Gatti wasn't shot. He could still fight.
People here apply "shot" to any fighter for x reason. A shot fighter is someone like old ass Duran who simply could not let his hands go anymore.

I'm worried about Manny Pacquiao fighting Thurman.

An age 40 former flyweight champ vs. a big, strong, hard-punching, prime natural welterweight.

Roy Jones after he’d been brutally KO’d several times. I thought he could get seriously in any of his fights.

    Two fights that didn’t happen:

When Joe Mesi was WBC #1 ranked fighter when Vitali Klitschko had the belt.

When the delusional Brits were trying to talk up David Price as a Wlad Klitschko opponent.

Both fights would have been savage KO’s the likes we haven’t seen in ages. Glad these fights never happened.

Pretty much any fight where they dig up an old washed up former great or elite and put them in with a killer

One active fighter I worry about is Antonio DeMarco he took some nasty beatings and is still going

    Danny Williams is another

Funnily, I though Sugar Shane Mosley was going to get a beat down from Margarito. As it turned out he probably took a few years off Tony's life that night.

Before I was alive: Ali against Foreman.
In my life: Mosley against Margarito before we knew about the handwraps.

For now, the Munguía vs Canelo or GGG fight. Might not happen but worried for the kid’s life.

how did you worry about Ali or foreman’s health before the fight if you already knew the outcome of the fight before you watched it?

Simple. I knew who Ali was before I knew boxing. I saw the fight on ESPN classics very early on when I was just getting to know about boxing. I didn't know the outcome of the Ali-Foreman at that point when I watched it for the very first time. It's like learning about history of wars in school for the very first time without knowing the outcome. And so yes, there is some hindsight involved, but I honestly didn't know who won. Plus, George did put a beating on Joe Frazier knocking him down 5 times on his way to victory. Who knew what Ali had in store for himself if he had trouble with Frazier and Foreman simply walked through Joe?

I actually have another I fight thought of when I saw this thread again: the fight in 2008 between Kelly Pavlik and Bernard Hopkins. BHOP showed us that 40 years old was not the time to get murdered in the ring but to rewind the clock and dominate the man who soundly defeated Jermain Taylor twice, the same man he lost to twice.
