Has there ever been a fighter who visibly improved before our eyes like Pacquiao?

The evolution of Pacquiao's game is a beautiful thing to have witnessed. It's absolutely bonkers that Pacquiao has dominated at every stage of his development.

Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather.

Yes, he was great from the beginning but it did not stop there.

 

He never dominated Juan Manuel Marquez at any level, division, stage, plateau, or arc of his career. Pacquiao's evolution never truly surpassed his nemesis without the help of his promoter cooking the books. JMM fixed that in 2012. Pac-Man is great ,but Juan Marquez has his soul.

Ironically he was dominating JMM in the 4th fight. Heredias shakes was an equaliser though.

 

Lots of boxers adapt and improve throughout their careers. Pacquiao, while exceptional, is far from unique in this regard.

Locally I remember Baby Jake Matlala never amounted to much until he was "old" in boxing terms. Then everything just seemed to click together for him and he became, for a while, a right little terror.

JMM = roided to the gills

Mayweather = illegal IVs

Horn = unrestricted foul fest with headlocks, armlocks, shoving, a very blatant attempt to blind him with the lacing on his gloves, and he even threw Pac to the ground

You guys always seem to have an excuse as to why PAC loses a fight. Sometimes you guys actually have the excuse ready before the fight has even taken place. Just a funny observation i have seen over the years.
