Has there ever been a fighter who visibly improved before our eyes like Pacquiao?

    Sadly, when it comes down to it, it's about race.

    Just ignore DumbBot — dude is slow and won't get it. There's also a video of Floyd chugging down a big ass bottle of water after the weigh in. And then later that night, he's doing a video with Ben Thompson as he's eating and drinking and laughing.

    Manny Pac was on juice most of his career. Most of the "top" fighters he beat were already defeated by others before he faced them. Manny Pac was never anything special.

    Well, this is as ridiculous as claiming he's p4p GOAT..

    He's the greatest pound for pound fighter in the modern era. How am I defining modern? I mean the PPV, fight only once, maybe twice a year, duck everybody with a pulse era.

    Granted a much more watered down era in comparison to say Alexis Arguello's era when he would fight 5 or 6 times a year in his prime.

    Right so Manny Pac wasn't on the juice? So Manny Pac best wins weren't against guys who were already soundly beaten by other guys before he faced them?

    @IntentionalButt

    Isn't just about everybody who debuted at 15 or 16 going to make massive improvements throughout their career? I'm just saying that when you are that age you don't have any experience boxing. You haven't put in the time to improve your craft. You just haven't been on Earth long enough.

    Also, basically everybody becomes more physically dominant and imposing past their mid teens.

    True, but even among guys who debuted in their mid teens and fought into their late thirties or even forties ...precious few have reinvented themselves quite as dramatically as Pacquiao, let alone Barrera. Those guys went from cavemen (both kayo artists; one a speedster, the other a bruiser) to a highly specialized and effective (dat patented bunny-hop) in-and-out volume puncher and maybe the most cerebral Mexican seen in the ring since Salvador Sánchez, respectively.

    He debuted as a top 5 level fighter. He was the best fighter in the division by his 3rd fight. Received a small education in pro style against Salido and then beat Gary Russel Jr.

    He can't be man. I love Pac too, but Duran beat Ray Leonard. Pacquiao can't be the p4p GOAT.
