I thought Moran won a vacant title at bantam? Or super bantam if it existed then?

 

I'm pretty sure super bamtam wouldn't have existed back in Morans day.

 

According to Boxrec he won the vacant world Bamtam championship but immedialty moved up to Feather (where he drew two challenges and lost a further one at lightweight).

I wonder how widely recognized the tile was? Still he's a world champ born in Birmingham.......Live and learn eh???

 

Maybe I'm making it up then.

Thought I remembered reading something about him winning a vacant bantam title before moving up through the weights.

To be honest, I dont know that much about him other than a couple of articles I've read. So I've probably merged about dozen random facts together in my head!

Theres a win for the vacant title against Al Delmote 1907, I've no idea of whether the title was generally recognized but its def. seems to be there in the record as a version of the world title.

 

he had two versus abe attell and one with jem driscoll for a version of the title.
i don't thik he lost a title fight by KO.
he got KO'd by ad wolgast but his punches were lower than duran's against buchanan and i don't think it was a title fight.

 

Another 12 months mate and we might have a genuine brummy world champ at middle:good

 

lets hope so.he certainly looks the part and is probably the most exiting middle since benn's glory days.
