Has there ever been a worse commentary team than what we got for Canelo-Crawford?

I can't honestly think of a worse commentary team for a fight this high-level. Kellerman was atrocious with his non-stop shilling of Dana White and the BMF belt. Andre Ward was okay but largely went along with whatever mad rant Kellerman was on and failed to really call the action in an especially insightful way like he has in the past. And the MMA guy was fine but clearly didn't belong on a boxing broadcast, since he's more familiar with a different sport. Oh, and Skipper Kelp's scorecards were all consistently bad and his reasoning behind them didn't make much sense either. I mean, even Brian Kenny and Stephen A. Smith (despite neither really knowing much about boxing) have both been better than what we got last night. Stephen A. Smith at least has the good grace to be funny once in a blue moon, unlike Kellerman.

No. Usually the DAZN broadcast manage to consistently produce terrible commentary.

I've grown to like Kellerman but his main shtick from last night "he's the guy for this generation and no one will be able to convince them otherwise" is complete nonsense. I don't think anyone thinks that. Last guy who was kind of like that in recent memory was Usyk.

Kellerman was insufferable last night. He didn't have any confidence in his opinions because he was afraid to say something wrong in front of Ward. And Ward isn't doing Kellerman any favors either because his insecure ass was trying to correct people. And when it comes to commentary, he was not very good. Skip is good as UFC commentator and didn't fit in boxing. His scorecard was all over the place.

Kellerman was trying to slurp everyone and still think he's trying to shill for the house fighter. He really tried to hype up Canelo like he's a boogeyman in boxing when Canelo has been avoiding the best for years.

Yes, that was the worst commentary team I've ever heard.

Max Kellerman was TERRIBLE last night. He's the very worst boxing commentator.

Andre Ward was somewhat more tolerable than Kellerman, but not very good. Skip's scorecards made no sense.

Probox's team is much, much better. DAZN's team is better overall than last night's team, although Mannix is awful.

Yeah, anything that Kellerman is on is horrible. Why they ever thought to bring this unqualified clown back i will never know

    Kellerman does not spark joy.

Sometimes I wish they'd fire him. Out of a cannon. Into a wall.

They should give Tarver more chances, because I like Tarver and his commentary.

He has a good dynamic with other people and he's not biased like Kellerman or Ward. Kellerman sucks and Ward sucks the air out of everything.

    Yes.

Tarver is fair and objective, while Kellerman is always biased. Kellerman comes on like a 12 year old fanboy of certain boxers.

Yep. On another thread I mentioned Kellerman was giving me Larry Merchant flashbacks. Not a good thing. Just another example of why show producers should think long and hard about encouraging blowhards to bloviate....

Kellerman was probably still mad over the prior press conference with Canelo and Dana lol

No one compares to prime Lampley, Merchant and Harold, that's the sad truth. Kellerman was always tripe, absolute shyte, an agenda driven, fake enthusiastic shill for whatever agenda was on that day. I liked Foreman, Roy & Tarver.

Yes it was atrocious! I never knew Kellerman could be that bad. He almost made me not like Crawford for his constant shilling. The whole culture of every new guy being the best ever is tiring. It started with Lebron James in Basketball and then even worse with Patrick Mahomes in football. Mahomes had one super bowl title and everyone on tv was saying he's better than Brady. Lebron was like 0-2 in Finals and espn was saying better than Jordan. Sad to see Kelleram join that crew to the level he was last night.
As for Ward he's a dud as a commentator. Zero charisma, poor insight for a good fighter and he reeks of narcissism.
