Would you give an interview after doing something like that?

Nice try. We have the footage, that happened after Weeks called the action and was already waving the fight off.

This is a huge problem with the pro low blow TKO crowd, to justify your stance you guys have to give a completely dishonest retelling of filmed events every time.

So you say Weeks should have called it a knockdown?

An official knockdown is ruled in boxing when a fighter is punched and:

    c) when a fighter is hanging on, through or over the ropes and cannot protect himself and, for whatever reason, is lodged on a position where he can't fall

Nobody who has any integrity should defend Weeks' actions.

There is no 8 count in the state of Nevada. If a fighter can't protect himself, the ref has an obligation to protect them.

Tony Thieves robbed Kovalev and his family from their potential future earnings.

Look guys, the only thing I can think of is Weeks had determined a FEW SECONDS before the stoppage that if Kovalev takes a few more hits, he's calling it off. He may or may not had seen the low blow but at that point had already decided "one more punch and it's done". He could have noticed immediately after stepping in that it was low but it's too late, he can't back track and say "never mind it was low, cancel the stoppage". Think about it, as an official, after you make a decision you have to stick to it. These are split second decision in the heat of the moment, there's no time to back track.

So, let say Weeks ruled Kovalev hanging on the robes a knockdown, don't he have to give him a standing 8 (which doesn't exist in the state of Nevada) in order to determine whether he can continue or not?

No standing 8 count needed. If a fighter is unable to stand without assistance of the ropes due to a punch that is a knockdown.

When there is a knockdown, what does the ref do?

Weeks would have had far more explaining to do if he did his job correctly, if you catch my drift.

He would have had to fled the country and be given a new identity if he officiated according to the rules.

Then the referee counts to 10, not to 8. Fascinating, isn't it?
