Imo he has because he has done the one thing I’ve wanted to see Loma do for a couple years now which is fight in a division and clean out completely.

Anyone agree or do you think Loma is still above Usyk in pro achievements?

Lomo has the Salido thang, but did jump 3 divisions and I believe still surpasses Usyk stacking up their 5+ best wins against each other.

    Completely different......

You can't compare two fighters of such different sizes.

Just be grateful you're alive at a time you've got novice pro's like Loma/Usyk, and even Joshua/Spence, that are willing to take on the best fighters they can in 20 fights and less.

What are you talking about, p4p exists for a reason. Going off your ridiculous statement we couldn’t compare any fighter with big weight disparities so why was roman Gonzalez considered better p4p than GGG at one point?

hard to judge really, Usyk has won the Ali trophy, beating two of the top 3, is undisputed champion, along with The Ring & Lineal. Whereas Loma has gone through 3 divisions, and recently beat a "p4p" talent in Linares at a division he is small in. On balance, i think i'd lean usyk

I don’t think so, I mean Usyk hasnt had the luxury of fighting guys coming off long lay offs, he hasn’t bought anyone up a division or two.

Lomas best wins are Gary Russel jr & Linares. Linares has been stopped 3 times in the past but because Loma came up in weight I still credit that as a good win. Rigo was inactive and old coming to weight division, Marriaga came off a tough loss and came up a weight division, Walters was coming off a year+ lay off, if he had been active that would have been lomas best win for my money because he was undefeated and a puncher.

    Usyks wins:
Undefeated unified Gassiev who had beaten the top name at the time in Lebedev and a dangerous puncher in Dorticos
Undefeated Breidis in his own back yard.
Undefeated Glowacki who had previously beaten the long reigning champ Huck and he beat him on the road too.

What top name in his division has Linares ever beaten in his whole career? I can’t name one top level guy, he never unified, he ducked zlaticanin viciously, I give Loma credit for coming up in weight and getting the stoppage in a tough fight. However I’m never been sold on Linares being this p4p talent when the guy has been stopped 3 times against less than stellar names.

Not a fair comparison, since Loma fights in a better quality division than Usyk. Although Loma lost to Salido, who was old, at least Salido was proven against the best of the best while none of Usyk's competition has measured up just yet. Linares is the grand scheme of things isn't all that great, but he's much better than the stiff and unskilled Gassiev or overrated Briedis.

Gassiev's only claim to fame was knocking down an old Lebdev and barely escaping with a split decision. Beating Dorticos, who couldn't put a dent in light heavyweight washout Edison Miranda says everything that needs to be said about how overrated Dorticos was. Briedis looked very mediocre against Mike Perez, who was a heavyweight washout. Huck was old and shot and Hunter was an inactive novice.

hence the "" next to p4p talent, i think he's top 25 maybe, but that doesn't constitute p4p talent for me, but most consider him to be

I don’t think he is top 25 imo just off the top of my head I can reel off 25 names with better wins and less losses than Linares.

He cleaned it up, he hasn’t ducked anyone and he came out undefeated. In regards to it being a less competitive division, Loma isn’t fighting the top names in the divisions he has been. He never Berchelt when the guy was his mandatory for the WBO belt, he never fought Tank (even though in this case it was Tank ducking).

They need a world boxing super series at 135 so we can really find out who is the best out of 135 Mikey or Loma. Right now we don’t know, however we can say that about the CW division.

First of all, undefeated doesn't mean ****. Level of opposition is the key. Wlad fought back to back undefeated guys who were bums. Majority of his best wins were against guys with losses.

And how is Usyk supposed to move 2 weight classes up? There is only 1 weight class left.
And his jump from CW to HW alone is massive.

And lets look at the Inactivity stats:
    Usyk vs Opponent:
    9 months - Glowacki 5
    3 months - Mchunu 4
    4 months - Hunter 11
    5 months - Huck 5
    4 months - Briedis 4
    6 months - Gassiev 5

A few could be rounded up or down a months if you start counting the days but it canges very little.
The only one with any real inactivity was Hunter.

Well Berchelt chose Vargas over Loma. He was the mandatory but the purse bids were not ordered. So Berchelt chose the guaranteed title shot.

His idol is Loma! One of anyway, in boxing terms! I know they are great friends too. You can see he studies & imitates Loma not the other way round. Loma is God!
