Ward is very good, no doubt about that. Ward weakness is his punching power and stamina. Styles make fight and his nightmare at 168 is Dirrell; fast,, good reach, powerfull and slick. Kovalev is also a very bad match up; Kovalev has reach and power advantage and controls distance very good this all means that Ward would have to take a lot of punishment.

Dirrell on the other hand has problems with his toughness and mental state witch makes GGG and Kovalev a very bad style match for him. GGG would take his best shots and would bring it until Dirrell goes down. Kovalev would patiently slow him down.

Considering all of the aforementioned fights, Kovalev will end up victorios, others would loose once or twice.

You boys here need a serious Ward & dirrell update. 1st off, ward has no power problems and would have none with Sergey. Also, I don't think you've seen either fighter in 5 years the way u talk. Hve you seen either recently in the gym sparring or in a bout ? I would say no and if you say any different you're highly questionable....

    Dawson.

Screw the weight drained excuse. Dawson said he was willing to come down in weight to fight Ward. Ward accepted the challenge and beat him from pillar to post.

I alwsys said Dirrell was a bad match up for him and was mad when their fight got cancelled because I wanted to see him in their with a guy who was a better athlete than him. Dirrell was much faster than Ward and had a good jab with that said Dirrell is very mentally weak and Ward isn't.

Dawson was rated #10 on the pound for pound list when he fought Ward. He was coming off his biggest win as a pro.

Check out Dawsons rating now, and average the two - thats what Ward fought.

So basically, Ward has never fought a fast slick fighter.

Ward is the one who ruined Dawson. The same Dawson who took Adamek's undefeated record and Hopkins' linear light heavyweight title. Stevenson should have thanked Ward for his easy win over Dawson at his post fight conference.

if adamek had fought aggressively, he'd have stopped dawson. he almost stopped him late, the way it was.

Nonsense! Dawson made weight on his first try. He looked good until he got caught with a short left hook in the third round. It was all over from there.

I don't buy that Dirrell is "much faster than Ward", not be a long shot. And even if the gap in speed is more than I make of it, Ward is so much smarter that he actually knows when to move and where to move, wasting far less energy than Dirrell does.

But you nailed the point about the mental toughness discrepancy favoring Ward by a landslide.
