I'm one of Wilder's biggest critics but for once this really isn't on him. Ortiz was failing drugs tests long before this fight was even thought about. He's an old man on the sauce and he was too clumsy to get off of it long enough before testing started.

The worst you could accuse Wilder of with a straight face is hearing tell Ortiz was on PED's and gave him short notice knowing he'd either have to be clean - which at his age makes him considerably less formidable - or he'd fail. Personally I think Wilder just saw an overhyped old man as the easiest way to legitimise himself in the eyes of boxing fans.

The problem isn't Ortiz or even Wilder but why drug testing can't determine a ped from a life saving drug.

Really I'm getting sick and tired of hearing masking agent because it is bull**** technology should have gone beyond this and if it hasn't maybe its all a waste of time..

High blood pressure medication isn't a ped period...

It really is a big mess. We need drug testing in sports but theres so much to cover. Or are some atheletes and their doctors just being lazy by not going to look on WADAs website for substances they're about to take.

Are these athletes being educated on what to consume?
What are the chances this medicine I've taken before ends up affecting my drug tests?
Can I drink this energy drink named 100% Healthy?

I remember that Russian tennis player saying that she got the substance list on her e-mail and "forgot to look at it" or something. Maybe not the best excuse.

Too many are getting busted for crap like this, really it should be up to the testing agencies to actually test for drug that affect performance, not oh you could be taking something bad because you are using something else.

I don't have any faith in the system and it is getting worse. It time these agencies take some responsibility..

Its not Wilder it is the criminals who promote him, they are just as crooked as the rest of them, who knows what strings get pulled behind closed doors. People like Eddie Hearn and Oscar may laugh at the claims of corruption in the sport but ofcourse these guys are guna laugh that off cuz they are a big part of it. Its rife, its all happening right infront of our eyes we just dont see the payements going on.

If Ortiz WAS taking peds you'd expect him to look a little better than he does ... only Wilder can duck a fight with a fat, slow 45 year old with a heart problem

Honestly though, this is an OTC Walgreen's prescription of heart medication in which it contained combinations of medicine, of which only one was mixed in that is illegal, and in very small amounts. It really is nothing at all and I can guarantee that Whyte, Fury, Joshua, Povetkin, Parker, etc would go forward with the fight either way.
