No, Wilder got hurt by school teacher Molina, was losing rounds to Szilka, Duhappas, Washington etc. Wilder has a shot, he is even more vulnerable than AJ.
Wilder makes easy work of Joshua, who will be so heavy and musclebound by the time they fight, he won't be able to move his arms.
Takam showed that Joshua is a work in progress (which anyone with acumen already knew). Wilder's stock does not go up as he's done nothing for it to. I'd still have Joshua a favorite against Wilder. Both are very beatable. Actually pretty much everyone in the division is beatable. There is not gonna be a dominate champion on the horizon
More Joshua's stock has suffered a correction than Wilder's risen. Likewise Dillian Whyte's stock has diminished. Wilder is still a fraud until he proves otherwise - which won't be against Buffet Bermane.
Not everyone changed their view. There were some like me that expected Takam to be a tougher fight for Joshua than Pulev due to styles. He was never going to just blow him out. Just goes to show how many pick a winner based on opinion or what they are told and not by actually breaking down styles and strengths of fighters or by looking at past results. Wilder only has a punchers chance. He couldn't out box Washington, no way he can compete with Joshua in terms of skills. Even on the power department he's over powered by Joshua. Just compare their performances against Molina and Gavern, pretty clear Joshua has more raw power. Wilder is more explosive though and thats why he's dangerous he can suddenly unload a monster shot and change the direction of a fight like against Szplika and Washington. Question is can he land one of those shots before Joshua KO's him with one of his own bombs.
"Has Wilder's stock risen?" Perhaps, but only because a bunch of simpletons expected Joshua to blow Takam out of the water and have had to reassess their positions when the reality hit them in the face. Realistically Wilder's chances are the same as they ever were. Very slim. This is still the man that was getting outboxed by Gerald Washington and Artur Szpilka. He doesn't get to improve his stock by proxy because a fighter who'd be his best win by far does better than expected against a man whom many consider to be a level above him in class. How the hell does that work? If anything Wilder's stock has dropped as a number of his recent opponents have failed in more emphatic fashion against rival claimants. Molina got blown away by Joshua, Duhaupas got blown away by Povetkin, Szpilka got dominated by Kownacki, Washington got beaten down by an overweight and inactive Miller. He needs to raise his profile through his own efforts, not the struggles of other, better champions who have the stones to actually take the fights they're supposed to take.
You can't count Wilder out completely because of his power. If Wilder could survive the first 6 rounds without getting winded then who knows. But I'd go with an early KO win for Joshua.
Oh, now Wilder is a one-punch KO artist? haha He boxes bums and needs 10 windmills with the most amateurish footwork and technique to get a stoppage win.
I think Wilder can box his way to the 5th from a distance and just HAIL MARY that AJ will gas. I don't think either guy has one punch KO power and BOTH have limited experience so this will be a good fight
I dont know why people keep bragging about Wilder’s power, it is easy to knock out tomato can after tomato can and give the illusion that you have this far from mundane god power.
Takam might be the best Wilder has fought. AJ's stock is little down as he has had issues with older fighter as of late, but I still think he blasts Wilder out inside secen rounds if they meet.
The problem is Povektin and Ortiz are better than Wilder. So is Parker. AJ needs to get busy...his legacy is slipping away if he doesn't fight the best soon. Or he'll have to be around 4 years from now and beat the next wave of up and comers, the trouble is he said he wants to retire 5 years several months ago...
All of Wilders title performances have been TERRIBLE and he's looked way more flawed than AJ. Funny how people are forgetting that because AJ showed some stamina issues after coming in heavy, and the fact that he was facing Takam a guy who could probably go through Wilders best wins undefeated. Yeah AJ isn't the second coming of Wladamir Klitschko, but he's still pretty damn good and a lot better than the windmiller from Alabama.
The only "power" Wilder has is against bums. Against anybody halfway decent, as Stiverne showed, his bogus power disappears. Wilder is a total fraud, his glossy record a product of facing guys that Chris Byrd could have KOd.
If Wilder's stock is going anywhere, it should be down. Using Molina as a litmus test we already know AJ is a lot more rounded and dangerous than Wilder - but now we've got Takam to show how AJ compares to Parker/Povetkin etc, and the distance between Joshua and Wilder is FAR greater than between Joshua and Parker etc.
