I could care less if Winky returns, and at this point if he fights any top MW he'll probably get his ass handed to him

I hope not. He's not particularly exciting but I appreciate his skill. If he remains fit and focused and has a good tune-up to shake off the ring rust and regain his form and confidence then I think he beats anybody at 154 and 160.

    Nope.

But the fact is he's a very skillful and intelligent fighter, with a fantastic defense and a very good chin. Who at 154 or 160 can outpoint him?

the light middlewieghts are open as $20 hooker. and the middlewieghts have only pavlik and abe to give it credence.

    Wow you are serious...
    Well theres a handful
    At 160:
    Pavlik
    Abraham
    Sturm

Pavlik and Abraham beat him with relative ease, Sturm may struggle but still outpoints him.

    At 154:
    DLH
    Spinks
    Santos
**** I would even give James Kirkland a serious shot at putting Winky down

I agree Winky is very intelligent and a defensive master, however the names listed are either able to break his defense or just as defensive minded and intelligent.
If your curious as to any of my picks I would be more than happy to enlighten you:)

    Cheers:good

    James Kirkland? Felix Sturm?

Winky will not be knocked out, not even by top guys like Pavlik or Abraham let alone Kirkland. He's got an outstanding defence and a very good chin.

How do you propose someone like Kirkland will get past Winky's jab and into range to hit him with him always backing up, always jabbing and always on the move. Not to mention if they do get in range he's superb at covering at.

Pavlik is predictable, straight 1-2 combinations or 2 jabs and then the straight right after. Of course he has the youth and reach advantage but Winky is very good at reading shots and would have no trouble given Pavlik's predictability, he would counter with the jab over the top all night, with his southpaw stance giving his an edge here in being able to do so.

Abraham has power and a fantastic chin, but his shots are pretty wild and he struggles with boxers. Elvin Ayala for example, he really troubled AA with his running. Now Winky doesn't run, but he's constantly getting out of range, sticking with the jab and moving and avoiding AA's looping hooks.

DLH doesn't have the stamina to keep up with Winky. It will be like the Floyd match only worse, because Winky isn't going to sit on the ropes and allow DLH's pressure to steal rounds. He will fade badly towards the end and Winky could well take all the last 5 rounds aswell as 3 or 4 of the first 7.

Sturm, Santos, Spinks I don't even wanna go there. These guys don't beat Winky.

Just abit of food for thought when matching Pavlik with Winky.....
Winky fought a fighter with a much similar style to his own 3 times, by the name of Bronco McKart, many feel McKart won their first 2 clashes. Bronco met Kelly for the NABF title and was obliterated, I'm sure you've seen the highlights.
The point is Kelly has been there and done that and has the ability to break down the turtle defense, with straight precise punches, that find there mark over and over again, this is partly why it's an easy pick for me, same goes for Abraham for the same reasons....
Kelly Pavliks workrate, accuracy and power make it an easy nite.
Pavlik knows exactly how to crush the turtle

Tommy I truly understand your assesment however the fact is you're about 3 or 4 years to late. Winky has fallen victim to inactivity and age something that isnt going to get better
I really like Winky and would pick him prime for prime over any of the fighters I listed previously, but that prime is long gone mate:deal
