He obviously has a history of attempting to cheat, and is not the nicest guy in the world at all. But after the fight I found myself having a massive amount of respect for him. As a Boxer it reminded me what we all liked about him, He was prepared to die in that ring, he continued throwing punches and coming forward till the final bell. Despite getting wobbled and the state of his face. He's not the nicest person is in the world (but to ne fair not many boxers are). But as a Boxer, i think we should be priviliged to have him. And I look forward to it, should he ever fight again. I know longer think he's a boxer that shames the sport.
maybe I'd have more respect for him if he won a round or two. I don't get this whole respect him for taking a massive beating and losing every round to someone he disrespected! the point of boxing is to hit and not get hit, that's who we should feel privileged to have, not a "warrior" who can't win a round and has tried to cheat yes it's cool he went out on his shield and all but that only goes so far
I feel bad for him he got robbed. He won every round of the fight and it just proved Manny will get destroyed by The USA's beloved PBF.
Because he never had the ability to "hit and not get hit" against Manny so that was never going to happen. It was the bits when he was back in his corner towards the end of the fight where Garcia was holding up fingers and he had to say how many. He couldn't of answered quicker. It was never an option for him to not get back out there..
that's what i'm saying, if he ain't fighting like floyd, then he's no good, he's amateur. there should only be one way to do this sport and that is floyd's way. :hey
He got the best deal of all time. He got paid 6 mill to get hit by a car and did not have to go to court or wait for a settlement for the accident which normally takes years. He was paid upfront and will recover and go on with his life.
i wasn't even referring to you in the first place man. margo fought the way he knows how to fight. but people are expecting him to what, suddenly move his head and move side to side? given the circumstances and the skillset he has, he showed a lot of effort and guts in the fight and to me that's good enough for him to earn at least a little bit of respect.
He fought with loaded gloves and could have killed someone Loaded gloves have killed boxers in the past, and who knows if he used them against Cotto who has never looked them same since Boxing is the only sport where it is legal to kill your opponent. Margarito is a cheat and should always be remembered as one
To the some point yes. He got 'stones' to the point that it's hard to not feel for the guy. Rematch against Cotto with bigger slice of the purse going to Miguel might help it even more but that's just my opinion. Cotto seems to me like a guy who can forgive but who knows how many others there were. Margarito is either way going to hear about the gloves for the rest of his life and by that way he'll be warning example for anyone thinking of doing the same, horrible mistake. Hopefully he recovers from that beating he took but I doubt that he does. Retirement wouldn't be bad choice either.
