Ruenroeng was a very good amateur. World Bronze medalist and has more time to hone his skills. I'm expecting him to hold good account of himself. He is in a very tough division, though.

  3. Stay away from these kind of fights folks.

Go away. Pros aren't better than amateurs. People forget that there are many amateurs 25+ years old who have had many years specialising in this construct.

Ruenroeng won this bout thanks to some bribed R and J. It was awful match and everybody in the hall booo the decision. It was a shame. One of the worst decisions in amateur boxing that I ever saw.

  6. It's not about pros' vs amateurs, it's about your safety son.

Uh yeah, because the pro game where promoters handpick no-hope opponents to take a beating is inherently so much safer.

Hassan Ndam just won his 1rst fight on his way to Rio by outpointing USA's Jonathan Esquivel in a fight that was closer than expected. Esquivel landed some good shots on Hassan, but it just wasnt enough to overcome Hassan's speed advantage.

Both N'Dam and Ruenroeng won their semi final bouts and qualified. Not surprising not because they're so great, but because this tourney is made of lower level WSB and APB boxers.

    N'Dam's:

N'Dam's final opponent is really good, Juan Carlos Carillo from Colombia. Southpaw with good balance, defence, sharp punching. And power, winning by KO in 2 of 3 fights, which were in fact the only two KOs in the tournament. Can N'Dam's china chin make it through 3 rounds?

KO at 5:08 in his semi final bout:

1st round KO in his first bout:

I don't rate Juan Carlos Carillo at all. He fights an awful lot like Ali Raymi hahaha.

Do you think anyone at light heavy can compete with La Cruz and Ward? Is Niyazymbetov from Kazakhstan the next best medal contender? He was schooled by La Cruz too.
