WOw your the first "boxing fan" I"ve ever heard try to defend the rankings of these ABC organizations. Like I said before, the guy has faced nobody. You all talk about untested prospects like that means something. He has legit and proven comp in his division and he has not tried to fight any of them.He isn't getting any passes from me, and no praises for beating the unproven, especially over what a champion in the same division did against a proven world class fighter, yes I'm bringing up King Kong vs. Vic.

Nah nah nah . . . I'm not defending their rankings . . . I antagonize it too . . . but that's their ranking . . . is there anything else we can do? That only shows how weak that Goddam organization is.

The guy doesn't need any passes from you or anybody. :D

If you are talking about unification . . . then that's a promotional problem the guy hasn't fought out of Japan yet.

Meanwhile the thread is about the guy making four consecutive KO's despite him having very low KO percentage.

Hasegawa's last three opponents are: Nestor Rocha, Vusi Malinga, and Alejandro Valdez.

All three are pretty damn good boxers in my opinion. Malinga alone defeated a past prime yet still dangerous Sahaprom before his fight with Hasegawa. Valdez tko'd Ruiz who gave Molitor a tough time and beat the once highly touted Bautista.

Just because people here do not know the lower weightclasses beyond Donaire and Darchinyan who happen to be Flyweights, does not mean that Hasegawa;s competition has been filled with nobodies.

I hope he comes over to prove that there are more asian fighters in this world besides Pac and his filipino compatriots.

You are talking absolute poop mate and are really only showing your ignorance rather then prove any point about Hasegawa.

Veraphol Sahaprom = One of the best bantamweights of his era, criminally underrated by anyone outside of Asia and as proven as you get for a world class fighter. He would have beaten Vic, Austin, Agbeko, Marquez, Mabuza..just about anyone around, when he was at his best..you can count on it :good

Genaro Garcia = 3 time world title challenger, who holds a stoppage win over Rafael Marquez and just happened to be a good little fighter.

Malinga was a mandatory who went over to Thailand and destroyed Sahaprom..decent contender, not someone to write home about but if you are going to rubbish Hasagawa's record Id start looking at other fighters.

Maldrutto wasnt much chop but he was the best Europe could offer outside of Siderenko..and had been for several years.

Valdez was an especially solid prospect, with wins over Pastrana, Ruiz, Rivas and Santos to name a few..more so then most of the recent contenders that Agbeko, Siderenko, Moreno, et al had been facing overall. I think as time goes by that win will probably mean more because Alejandro is still a good fighter, who will continue to be a top contender in future IMO.

I understand your backlash..as usual some people are going completely overboard with him..but there is certainly no need to go the complete opposite way and speak so negative about him. His in the ring ability is there for all of us to see, his record is as solid as any at the weight.

Agreed, his comp is solid if not devastating IMO. And man, he looks great doing it.

I hope the rest of the world gets to see this man.

I'm going to bookmark this page, so when Hasegawa gets shown for what he really is when he faces legit comp, I'm going to laugh at all of you.

The man has fought nobodies, and people who beat faded somebodies, but are not special themselves, just like him. He has a lot of real opposition in his division, hopefully he actually fights them.

Funny that people jump on well hyped western civilization star JuanMa Lopez when he KOs Ponce De Leon and stops moving-up-in-weight veteran icon Gerry Penalosa. These are very good wins and JuanMa deserves all the credit he's getting. But so does Hasegawa: beat thai legend Sahaprom twice, by decision and by stoppage and beat a bunch of condenders (not P4P-ers obviously but at least 2 of them very decent fighters) in very dramatic fashion - yet people find a way to discredit him, most likely because he doesn't get western TV air time or for other personal reasons. BW is the division of underrated fighters, Agbeko and Hasegawa are two of them. And of all BWs, Hasegawa is the best according to every expert or magazine list, so laugh as hard as you want, it doesn't make Hasegawa's recent great success go away.

If it makes you feel better I don't rate Juan Ma high either and for the exact same reason.

Current highly rated boxers, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pac (below 135), Vic Darchiniyan, Paul Williams( @ 147 and 154), B-Hop, Chad Dawson, Tomas Admek, Steve Cunningham, Timothy Bradley, Nate Campbell, Shane Mosley, Cotto. There are some more but I would rate these guys highly.

I rate all of them highly because they have performed well on an elite class level against elite competition.

And how exacly Bradley and Cunningham are elite AND Hasegawa not when they don't have a single win as quality as Hasegawa's TWO victories over Sahaprom, and they are not even the top fighters in their division? Clearly, you rate those high who you can see on TV, which is understandable, but you also speak nonsense of a fighter and his opposition you clearly can't judge properly. And nobody said Hasegawa is like P4P king or top elite. He's "simply" the best BW of the world who holds quality wins to be rated higher than someone like Cunningham. This topic is about this guy who keeps knocking out legit world title challengers is 1 or 2 rounds, nothing more.
