Bradley beat two elite competitors more than your boy Hasegawa. He beat Witter and Holt, not only did he beat them, he dominated them. Cunningham fared well and showed he belong in the same class as Ademak in there close fight, and the way he has dispatched all those after the loss shows he is still on an elite level.

Who cares if Hasegawa has two victories over the Sahaprom, that was 3 years ago, what has he done since? ****.

Also looking at Bradley he is the best guy in his division, he cemented that when he came off the canvas and beat the fight out of Holt.

Cunningham is the clear #2 in his division, Hasegawa while bodies rank him #1 in the division, it hard to see why considering he hasn't fought any elite fighters as a champion. I'll respect him when he fight some top 10 contenders in his division.

hmm says... been impressed with him since I saw him in Japan. Big improvement. One thing most likely for sure... we'll probably won't see him fight in the U.S. or maybe not for a long time... Japanese fighters don't really push to fight in the U.S. They're more comfortable staying in Japan.. the draw is there for them as opposed to flying a small fan base to the U.S. to watch their fights. Daisuke Naito, probably the most popular boxing face right now in Japan, even stated this claim. If Top Rank or whoever wants Hasegawa in the U.S., well they better do some hard convincing and promoting, otherwise this will be another missed prospect which would be good for mainstream boxing and not just the fans in Asia.

The best bet would be to convince US networks to play a recording of his fights before they make any big commitment financially to him, since he's not much more than an unknown quantity as far as his name value's concerned. The replay cost should be a fraction of the live rights and it's an economical way to build up recognition for him; once they're on, the fights will speak for themselves.

There's going to have to be something at that kind of level, or someone's going to have to go to Japan to fight him to build up their name there...without much international interest, the financial incentive's not going to be there.

hmm says... true that. other than the financial concerns and draw the biggest thing to probably overcome is the realization (not fact) that the majority of Japanese boxers (big names) prefer living and working in Japan over U.S. Once they've obtained fame in their country, they're pretty much set and content so they don't feel the need to leave (I wouldn't mind living and working in JP over the U.S hehe). I'm thinking they wouldn't mind going to the U.S. for one or so big fights to test the possibilitiy then returning and staying in Japan. I'ld be damn surprised if HH goes beyond the norm ala Chris John style. I'm hoping so...

I think he's going to be the man. Shame the other two results on Tuesday weren't inspring.

To answer the question about his improved punching - improved balance is my guess. He's so well balanced now.

he has more leverage on his right hook now. i've just seen his rematch with veeraphol. looks like his stance may have been a bit adjusted too.

Hasegawa has just entered BScene's P4P list. Dan Rafael has already talked a lot Hozumi potentially entering his P4P list.

What do you guys think of experts being so high on Hasegawa and who should he beat for YOU to agree with them?

Hozumi will need a "name" for most people to be sold.. even though for people that are familiar with his career and weightclass Sahaprom is a great name for a resume, at the end of the days most westerners dont know him, even among hardcore boxing fans

he'll be needing a Montiel, Agbeko, Mares, Darchinyan, or Mijares even untill people are sold

..but regardless, it looks like Hozumi's finnally getting some of his proper dues, very good to see for such a talented operator like himself

also on a personal note, i'd love to see Hasegawa-Donaire some1 down the line, that would be amazing
