Hasegawa/Gonzalez card has started...

To be honest that was sheer class (just seen the shot) he dips draws Hasegawa's hands down and lands a crisp right hand. He got up but there wasn't anything reckless in this bout just seen clips of the rounds it's a chess match both looking to land. Southpaw vs Orthodox fight lots of stepping and patting down lead hand to come over with own jab etc.

Jhonny was very smart there....classy ending.

Good points but I still feel HH is a risk taker and bangers Montiel and Gonzalez took full advantage.

 

It might be good to get him out of Japan for a while box abroad and get some confidence back as i'm sure he will be at a low place about his ability right now.

 

The odd thing is, carelessness aside he's showed tremendous ability in his last few fights. :yep

He looked quite good against Burgos, and was smoothly shutting out both Montiel and Gonzalez before they knocked him out.

He should certainly restrict his diet to non-punchers for a while.

 

Think there was talk of a few of the Japanese fighters boxing in america a while back.

Just watching it...he looks nice and smooth in there and then BOOM! and it's all over. Thing is he gets back up so that's a positive but yeah your right get him some non punchers and build him back up gradually.

 

He should move down to super-bantamweight for starters. The competition there isnt quite as good as it is at featherweight, and id give him a good chance of winning a belt against Shimoda. A fight with Nishioka would also be huge in Japan.

 

Yep, Teiken want to try and break into the US market. They don't directly promote Hasegawa, but have worked with him in the past (like today) so he could be one of the fighters that they want to send over.

Shimoda-Ramos should be the first fight in the States to spark the 'Japanese invasion' if everything goes to plan. Nishioka and light welterweight prospect Yoshihiro Kamegai (most famous for sparking a ref out) are the others that Teiken want to send over this year apparently.

TBH Brazilians outnumber Japanese several times over, as far as immigrant groups go.

None virtually (they have more presence in Mexico if anything, Nishioka fought Gonzalez there, Tomoki Kameda fights mostly in Mexico etc.). But you have to start somewhere I guess and Nishioka/Kamegai are the right type of fighters to send over and get the ball rolling :good
