It must be the most important fight in my career. [/FONT]
Don't know man, scene reported earlier that Montiel's people didn't agree to the fight and they are fighting Morel instead, then this announcement came, it's confusing. Hasegawa-Morel was also announced last year but Hozumi ended up fighting Perez. I guess it's just a matter of time before we'll have an answer, but I'm afraid it's a no go.
Gonzalez is a pretty good win bro. Even if he has faced soft opposition, you gotta give credit to Hasegawa since his people usually never come to the states. They usually end up defending their tittle at home against chumps.
Damned good fight brothers! I've wanted to see montiel in an important fight ever since his close loss to 118-112 johnny gonzalez a few years back. Montiel is a solid world class boxer puncher taking on a prime version of a super skilled warrior in hozumi. Throw in a uni component, and this promises to be a real superfight of the lower weight classes. I'd like to see the winner take on yonny vargas to become the long awaited RING magazine champion at 118 pounds.
Montiel says he is ready to fight against Hasegawa in Japan and is waiting for WBO's approval. http://boxnoticias.net/?p=9915
