So, is MMA going to become what pro wrestling was in the 50's, 60's and 70's; the place where old heavyweights go to die?
Well he is washed up and just reached the highest he could've at this point: get a crack at the title. He's very slow though, and probably too old to learn a good amount of floor work and what not, to master MMA. The only thing i don't like about it, is that MMA fans will say "see, this is a boxing champion and he lost to this and that".
He has'nt been a serious boxer for years and he's a one hit wonder anyway. I wish Lennox had of trainned right and dealt with Rahman the way he did in the rematch the first time. He's nto taking MMA seriously and is going to go in and get beaten by a can, make himself look bad and the sport of boxing look bad. If you are a boxer that want's to compete in MMA then you should do what Marcus Davis has done. All The Rock is doing is going for after quick pay day or two against the likes of Tank Abbott or Kimbo. He's shot to **** as a boxer and wont take MMA seriously or do jack **** in that sport. Just another washed up boxer looking for a pay day. He quit against Toney because of a cut ffs. What's he goign to do when he get's elbowed and cut in MMA? Cut's in MMA are HUGE gapping ****'s on the face of dome. Anyway he'll probably fight Kimbo and get subbed in a heart beat. lol
Rahman is shot to **** and boxing is the worst martial art to go into MMA with. You cannot compare Rahman to Lesnar at all. Wrestling is one of the top martial arts to use in MMA. Brock Lesnar with no MMA training whatsoever would hand a prime Rahman his ass on the streets. Rhamam is old, shot and all he wants is the money. The only way Rahman does anything worth a toss in MMA is if he get's lucky like he did against Lewis. :deal
It does'nt work well for shot to **** boxer's who are old and have no desire to become an MMA fighter really. Rhaman just wants to fight Kimbo and the Kans. :yep Marcus Davis is a boxer turned MMA fighter who took the sport seriously and he's doing well. He fight's in the UFC and was just an average boxer. Iv'e got time for Davis, but no time for any boxer who just wants to jump on the MMA band Wagon and make a quick buck fighting Kimbo Slice etc. Rhaman knows hes shot and knows that he has no desire to compete in MMA at all. He's there for the pay day and to humiliate himslef and boxing. I don't believe a word he say's.
Rahman just needs to leave the fight game alone...PERIOD...That dude is shot and he will get his ass handed to him very quickly.:-(
Good luck to him, he will never really have any other significant fight in the boxing world imo. The one fantastic memory, very grateful for it.
I dont know about that, Tim Sylvia's main skill was striking, he was a former Heavyweight champ, and I know Liddel was a former kick boxer. In my opinion, if you matched prime Rahman and Lesnar in a street fight, it would be a 50/50 IMO, if Rahman catches Lesnar with the right hand, it's over. If Lesnar slams Rahman it's probably, even though Lesnar punches like a girl when he got his oppenent on the ground.:yep
I'd like to see Rock land a solid overhand right to the chin of a top MMA fighter with those tiny little gloves they wear.
Top level MMA is no joke and no place for someone that cannot defend themselves properly. Thai clinch and knee has been shown to deliver the largest force measured in terms of striking another human being.
No doubt, but on the other hand, not a lot of heavyweights are using these techniques. Silva mostly boxes and not overly well at that. But any fighter without any grappling experience better be hoping for a KO prior to the fight hitting the ground, otherwise their chances are slim to none.
