Pure speculation yet again...............we havent seen enough of Brock Lesnar fighting period. He has had 4 fights and lost the best fighter he has faced in Frank Mir. Also Brock during his time in WWE would not have beaten Hasim simply by virtue of the fact that the guy didnt even train in MMA.......all he had was his wrestling background. Wrestlers are doing well in sport because they understand that they have to add to the arsenal of skills, whearas so far we have had over the hill boxers who are to ignorant and too lazy to even train in other combats sports. Trust me.......if MMA keeps growing you will get boxers who turn to MMA but actually add in wrestling and BJJ.
Truth be told - that clip features tae kwon do guys using point sparring techniques against a boxer looking to knock them out - so they got what they deserved. They act like they've never kicked someone in the legs or head before. This is what kyokushin karate looks like. [yt]OP8Jwgx3tEg[/yt]
Bump. Would still have loved to have seen Rahman in a few mma bouts back in the day. Strong as hell with a mean street fighting reputation. Would have been fun up until a certain level.
Sure, jumping into a fight with an all time great mma fighter in his first mma fight without any training at all will do that to you.
Eh. Obviously anyone that can punch is gonna have a punchers chance in MMA with those little gloves and no counts. But he was never gonna be able to recreate that consistently either against Tim or any other halfway decent MMA fighter. I mean his only other MMA fight was him getting stopped in the first round by Kimbo ffs.
IIRC Sylvia and Mercer has a gentleman's agreement for it to be a standup affair, and Sylvia threw just about the laziest low kick I've ever seen in my life - begging to be countered by anyone doing that(Sylvia wasn't exactly a stranger to be caught cold early) the Fedor and Arlovski fights for example.
he would have sucked. the best boxers who tried mma and did well were open minded and still young to learn new things. His mma career would have been short lived and very similar to Ricardo Mayorga. I like mercer but he won on unique circumstances where the fight was boxing and then got canceled and turned mma, which made sylvia want to bang with hands only. Rahman isn't going to learn takedown defense or getups to his feet, he's going to sit in the pocket throwing some jabs waiting to set up his right hand while he gets his legged chopped , follow by a takedown and a tap. At best he wins 1 of 5 matches.
Probably, to be fair though I feel like Rahman actually understands how fighting works more than Toney seeing as Toney couldn't seem to understand that there's more to a fight than just punching.
