Hmm, so he'll be something of an unknown unknown quantity until we see him on the Floyd card. He has to be fairly decent though is Mayweather and his team is taking an interest in his career. So what im expecting him to be an OK prospect, who isn't quite worth the hype he receives, something like Chris Eubank Jr.

Although obviously the hype wont be near as major for Rahman jr as it is for Eubank jr, when the Brit forum was all jizzing over his pro debut:yep

From that bit of footage he looks decent alright, quick hands, puts his punches together well and is fairly mobile.

Mike Hunter is going pro too soon I think, solid amateur who's career stalled for a few years.

Undoubtedly moving to Vegas and training at the Mayweather Boxing Club under Floyd's direct tutelage will have drastically improved whatever his chances of making a splash might've otherwise been (from a strictly in-ring standpoint, let alone the promotional end)

My guess is, the last couple of years since hooking up with TMT he's pretty much shrugged off the idea of any national Golden Gloves or world amateur championships success and just been trying to fine-tune himself leading up to this date in May.

All jokes aside, it will be interesting seeing if he ends up having a career more like Floyd Mayweather, Jr. or Hector Camacho, Jr.

Personally, I actually usually root for these guys to outdo their old men. The odds tend to run against it, however.

    :good

Hasim Jr. is lucky - he's coming along during one of the shittiest HW eras in some time. :yep

Once K2 retire, there are very few mountains not scalable for a decent young prospect...especially on this side of the Atlantic. (since there will still be the likes of Charr, Dinu, Glazkov, Price etc. over yonder)

It is always interesting when a boxer's kid turns pro. Most of the time, they grew up in much better surroundings than the old man, so I wonder about their toughness. But, if they grew up around the gym, they often are ingrained with solid technique from a young age, it is almost a part of them.

I hope Rahman Jr. does well.

Monk Jr. AKA George Edward Foreman IV (grandson of the Heywood Giant) is probably debuting in a few years. :D
