At least he's fighting. 4 fights in 7 months. Most likely will take a fight to close the year out after this as well. He is always one punch away from winning a title. He lands clean on Haye or even Wlad, it's over. Go Rahman!
+1 Rahman will always be one of my favs. Dude had no real experience and STILL won the title. Imagine if this dude had an amateur background? Better yet, if he took his career more seriously? He lost to Maskaev twice because he was undisciplined and he beat Tua's ass to get a draw...but showed up way outta shape AND STILL BEAT THAT ASS. If Rahman was consistent the dude could have been one of the best of his era. He wasted a lot of his talent.
I've seen McGee fight Danny Williams, Sam Peter and Michael Grant. He's normally durable, he'll normally give you rounds. Usually a busy journeyman. Won't have fought in nearly 10 months by the time this comes around though. This is about the level of opposition I figured Rahman would fight. Until he gets his weight back into the 240s they'll keep him on the journeyman route. Hasim has his punch, but I don't think he has much left in the tank otherwise. He's so much slower than he used to be and he has a fair about of wear and tear. I think his next defeat will be his last, he's looking for that one decent payday before calling it quits...IMO.
Oh yeah, I don't begrude Rahman doing this one bit. So long as he doesn't take unnecessary risks with his health. There's a Somerset in New Jersey? Somerset is the next county over to me...
