They both pulled off two of the biggest upsets in Boxing history. Ramhan was a 20-1 Dog versus Lewis and Buster was a 42-1 dog versus Tyson. Who wins this fight?
I'd make Tokyo Douglas a narrow favourite to win a decision over Carnival City Rahman. If their "prime" years had coincided, I'd make Rahman a narrow favourite the majority of the time.
Douglas skills and fluid movements were levels above Rahman. I'd expect him to dominate with both men at their best Also to people that talk about 'Toyko Douglas', but you can see Douglas was exceptional if not that exciting if you watch his McCall, Berbick fights and the Tucker fight he was dominating before he was caught.
Seconded. Rahman is too slow to get past Douglas's long jab and if he gets through, Douglas will nail him with gorgeous combinations. Douglas is too quick, too rangy, too fluid and just too good for a limited tough fighter like Rahman. Unless Douglas loses focus, he should win a comfortable decision.
I’ll take Rahman. He was nothing like an off night Mike whereas Douglas didn’t really have anything that Rahman hadn’t conquered during his Sanders to Lewis run.
I think you lean Douglas in most fantasy fights against fighters of similar level, as his A game was much better than his overall record. He has all the tools to pick Rahman apart, and look good doing it. The heavy caveat is that Buster was inconsistent as heck, and Rahman was physically very strong, could get off the floor to win, and had a very dangerous right hand.
