Sanders was very talented but lazy. He had maybe the fastest hands in the division and possibly the best left hook, Good win. He also KO'd Lewis for what it's worth. Lewis is a top 5 ATG so a win over him is HUGE no matter what even though it was a fluke where Lewis wasn't taking him seriously. He should have also gotten the nod in the draw with Tua. These a better performances and wins than Ruddock ever accomplished.

Yeah Ruddock went the distance with Tyson in the second fight but I viewed that as more a product of Tyson being very predictable and not really throwing the combinations that he was famous for (he did kill the body though).

All in all Rahman had a better resume than Ruddock. If they had fought at their best I would bet on Rahman. Ruddock could KO Rahman if he land his "smash" flush but I feel Rahman has more boxing ability, better jab and overall is just better. Ruddock rarely impressed in the ring.

Agreed. Hasim did rise to the occasion a few times.

But man, both guys drive you to the poorhouse. Still, I think the jab of Hasim wins the rounds. It's just a matter if he can weather a storm or not. And for 36 minutes. And I tend to think the Rock was more open to right hands than the kind of wide left hook Ruddock threw.

No matter who wins it, probably an "if only" type fight anyway. As in if only Rahman had just continued to jab. Or if only Ruddock followed up when he had him hurt and in serious trouble.

I see a similar scenario to the Rahman-Sanders brawl but with Ruddock coming out on top. Rahman was nothing special, neither was Ruddock in a resume sense, but Ruddock's power was. It would bail him out of uncomfortable spots and have Rahman looking for that soft spot on the canvas.

Both men were vaporized by the great Lennox Lewis. Lewis' blowout of Ruddock in 92' when Ruddock was favored was a bone chilling kayo. Some thought Ruddock had been softened up in his two grueling fights with Mike Tyson the year before. Nevertheless, the Lewis kayo was emphatic and made the hairs on the back of people's necks stand up. No one before or since trashed the Razor like that. Rahman scored a shocking upset over Lewis later on. After all, how was Lennox going to get up for a guy who had been sent into orbit by the decidedly pedestrian Oleg Maskaev? Rahman was knocked clear out of the ring by the Russian after being ahead on points. The head snapping rematch kayo of Rahman all but erased the stain of losing the first fight. That was arguably the single most devastating punch Lewis ever landed in a fight. It impacted Rahman's jaw like a laser and put him to sleep.

In this fight the men feel eachother out before Ruddock lands his hybrid hook-uppercut and Rahman goes down. However, as Razor rushes in to finish Rahman Hasim uncorks a right over the top that causes Ruddock to pirouette first and then fall to a knee. He gets up at eight but is ostensibly finished at this point. Rahman by fifth round kayo. But in a trilogy these men are very even. I say Ruddock wins the rematch as they both erratic fighters with huge knockout power.

First of all , Rahman does not have "Huge power" , far from it, same as McCall, both made their "power" resume on a guy with a achilles heel, a below par chin.

Rahman is a slow right hand typ of guy, decent jab but not much more.......he has a very low ring IQ and once hurt even a little he is in tunnel vision mode.....

The win against Sanders was a battle of attrition with Sanders running out of juice before Rahman did.

BTW, Rahman was ready to quit after the little cut he received in South Africa, both fighters looked awful before he landed that right.

Firs of all i would put my money oN the fact that rahman had more power than the super overrated ruddock, and he was physically stronger too,RAHMAN MOVED TUA WITH A SHOT LIKE A RAG DOLL, I CAN“T SEE RUDDOCK DOING THAT, AND I THINK THAT TUA WOULD KNOCK RUDDOCK THE **** OUT
