All conjecture of course. The thing with Rahman you would not have to concern yourself w/ a Weaver is his condition coming into the ring. I could see Hasim not preparing 100% and figuring it to be an easy night's work. So, he comes in at like 241 for the guy. That kind of thing really was not a big issue with Weaver but it sure was with Rahman. And did anyone out there really like the heavy versions of Hasim Rahman?
Rahman was quite a bit bigger than Weaver. Both were kind of ponderous with good power and mediocre defense. I think Weaver had a better overall chin. He could be hurt early and was a slow starter but once he warmed up his chin was decent. I think unless Rahman got Weaver out of there early with a kamikaze attack, Weaver would win this in the late rounds.
Mike Hercules Weaver was a fine chiseled heavyweight who fought some pretty tough heavyweights, including a prime Larry Holmes and knocked out Big John Tate to win the WBA Heavyweight Title in round 15. Hassim Rahman kayoed Lennox Lewis in round 2, exposing him with a deadly right hand in 2002. Lewis would kayo Rahman in a rematch to reclaim the title. Weaver realizing this fact would avoid the right hand, Mike had a good chin even if he should get tagged. I see Weaver stopping Hassim late, 10th round after Rahman gasses out.
