Never has one fighter gotten so much out of one punch than Hasim Rahman.

At his peak, Rahman was a pretty damned good. Easily one of the best of his era.

Well Lennox Lewis sure thought Tyson of just a couple years earlier would beat him. He did everything he could to block a fight between Tyson and Rahman that was being negotiated because he feared if Tyson won that he would be left out in the cold. Rahman was pretty chinny and Tyson, even a shot Tyson, could bomb for a few rounds (as Lewis learned when he faced that walking corpse version of Tyson) and I wouldnt be surprised to see Rahman staring up at that lights if they fought.

Rahman was a decent contender who put it together one night against an off-form great in Lewis. While it was far from a dominant performance, he did have some success with the jab and landed a nice overhand right about 30 seconds before the shot that took Lewis out.

Rahman's had heavy-ish hands and was strong. His jab was probably the only thing which I saw and was really that impressed by. His punch resistance and stamina weren't very good, and his balance often hurt him when he tried to throw combos.

I do find it rather amusing though how often Corrie Sanders gets praised as this really good fighter who would've done so more if given the chance, and if he took boxing more seriously. Yet Rahman is always bashed and people act like he sucked. What happened when they fought?

Good solid fighter with a career that he can be well proud of.
