50/50 fight. Lewis against current Wlad would be Lewis's toughest ever fight on paper. And of course vice versa for Waldo.
Rahman - 50 - 8 - 2 (41 KO) 61 fights in total, 1 no contest Noteable wins - Puritty, Lewis, Barrett (1 KO win) Draws - Toney, Tua (2nd fight with toney a NC, originally TKO 3 Loss) Noteable losses - Povetkin, Klitschko, Maskaev 2x, Ruiz, Holyfield, Lewis, Tua - 6ko losses Held the WBC/IBF/IBO, lost it in first defense (rematch) Klitshcko - 61 - 3 (51 knockouts) 64 fights in total Noteable wins - Povetkin, Haye, Peter 2x, Chambers, Chagaev, Rahman, Ibragimov, Brewster, Austin, Byrd 2x, Barrett, Schulz. Mercer (10KO) Draws - 0 Noteable losses - Puritty, Sanders, Brewster (3KO) Held the WBO - Lost in 6th defense Still holds the IBF (2006) WBO (2008) WBA (2011) (along with the IBO/Ring) Will likely challenge for the WBC title against whoever holds it (Arreola, Stiverne, Jennings, Wilder) 2nd longest reign as heavyweight champ (Second to only Joe Louis) 15 defences in a row (21 in total) nearly 8 years and undefeated in his last 19 fights 37 years old = another 2 years in him at least Really looking at it, Despite the one win over Lewis, Klitschko has the better resume Thats not to say Rahman in his prime couldnt land a hard punch that stops Klitschko, although Prime for Prime i have to give Wlad the edge to a UD victory
Yeah, Rahman has the great win but lots of fighters have great wins. Some have two or even three. When you look at it from such a distorted viewpoint, you can come to all sorts of crazy conclusions like Rex Layne being better than Joe Louis, Buster Douglas being better then Holyfield, Bowe being better then Lewis, and Joey Maxim being the P4P GOAT.
Resume wise, I would say Wlad overall has the better resume. Rahman, does have the great KO over Lewis, and a few other good wins. But Wlad as a whole, has the better resume. H2H, again I think Wlad takes it. But with Wlad's weak jaw, I can also see Rahman landing his right, leaving Wlad laying on the canvas.
