Following the rematch against Murata that most of you were able to see live, I wanted to tell you what I really felt at the first moment of my career I ever gave up.

I hope I didn't disappoint you because this rematch was so long awaited, but I felt my body was imploding & failing me from the 2th round.

During my preparation I did meet some difficulties (Hurricane Irma), but they did not stop me from being ready and on weight; I had a good feeling to face a second time Murata.

Everything fell apart after the 2th round, I felt heavy and weakened, I stubbornly persisted.

(Coach) Pedro noticed and whispered encouragement in the ear "you're a warrior" so I continued to the 7th while physically in the red. I had no reaction to Murata's blows in live real time when I saw them coming, so I decided to put an end to the fight because there's no point in taking shots that my body wouldn't accept anymore...

I read he is now the only Japanese double-crown winner in history (meaning Olympic gold medal and world title in the pros), which is pretty interesting.

 

No reread it dude, he didn't blame his training camp. He acknowledged there were some transportation issues or whatever but went out of his way to get out ahead of it and preemptively ensure that nobody could put words in his mouth and say he was making excuses. The body deterioration he's talking about, my read on it, refers to Murata's body punching.

 

Atlas' commentary throughout pretty much this entire match was just vintage face-palm worthy stuff.

 

...and now that I have listened to all that doddering nonsense I can delete this brutally one-sided mismatch off my DVR to make room for something else. (most likely every syndicated episode of Family Guy and Bob's Burgers that ever airs, thanks to my gf . Never should've shown her how to use the remote...)
