lot of Brits hate Kahn, and I dont really know why? Im neutral and well regardless, with Freddy Roach in the corner & sparring with Pac. I think Kahn is starting to create a little Buzz and will flourish is spite of the hate. Kid is talented and getting better. Right now he probably hands Hatton his ass.
It's the ridiculous hype before he had done ANYTHING in the pros, along with the careful matchmaking to protect his glass chin from getting exposed.
British people like the underdog. Him getting the favours he did, turned many of us against him, just like DeGale and Harrison. We don't like to see guys get too much money for very little work.
I liked this kid Khan before he hooked up w/ Roach. I think Roach and Khan will make a lot of headlines in the very near future. All good I hope.
Barring the amatuer stuff sounds a lot like Hatton with that WBU trinket avoiding the tough fights. I mean he is not the only one who has done that reference Joe Calzaghe? Kahn still early in his career and is over here taking chances and learning?
I hear people say this and I can't make sense of it. The guy had a PPV fight against Prescott and got demolished in the 1st round and then continued to have PPV fights afterwards and he's just an up and comer. That doesn't sound like a person who's hated.
Perhaps there's a difference between the average British boxing fan and the ones represented on this board. I think that's safe to assume for us as a community in general. The hardcore types congregate here, and our views often don't jibe with the casual majority.
Personally, he's only hated not so much for his boxing skills, but rather the way he runs his gob off, especially in the early days, when he said he was ready to challenge the likes of Pacquiao...before he got KTFO. He probably still yaps too much for his own good - like the if he was white thing - and should concentrate on developing as a boxer to garner respect. It's the only way. Let the fists do the talking, cos he's not quite smart enough to talk like a pro yet.
