No that is fine, but why do you rate DLH and Witter as acceptable? Surely if Hatton won you and everyone else could just say "They were old and past it". I mean what is the difference? DLH has lost 3 of his last 5 fights and struggled to a win over Sturm. He is also 34, so older than Castillo, and Baldomir is 36.

This is what I mean about being inconsistent. Tsyzu was shot and too old. Castillo was past it and too old, but a guy like Baldomir at 36 is a fine opponent?

I just don't believe that if Hatton named Baldomir as his next opponent you would say it was a good fight. **** me, Collazo was younger and a world champion, he was deemed a good enough opponent for Sugar Shane, but Hatton fighting him in his first fight at welter is not acceptable.

I am not a deluded fan. I think PBF, SSM and Cotto would all beat Hatton. But I also think he is a top level fighter who is getting flack for fights that were perfectly good match ups.

 

Right number 1 there is no comparison between a 6 weight world champ like DLH and a faded CastilloatschGeez strike its not even close.Im not splitting hairs here but the general consensus is that if Hatton got in the ring with DLH right now he`d be in deep deep water.DLH is a solid light middle who can make welter and is 5ft 11 with a great left hook thats felled many a man..:rofl As for Baldo his coming off the back off win over Gatti and Judah.I have no problem with that bout and would have preferred that than Castillo but in the grand scheme of things it wouldnt have mattered much.I merely mentioned his name as you asked for a list.So dont harp on semantics and pick and choose what a merely moot points.This is ESB not the house of lords.

As for Collazo Shane fought him after Collazo was noticed as the WBA`s belt holder.Most fans hadnt even heard of him and im sure that list includes you.Shane did a job on him Hatton struggled.Whats your point? BUT the bout never should have happend as imo Hattons business at the time was clearing 140 not popping into to 47 to fight non descript names and falling off.47 is stacked why not fight a name!?!?!?!??!?!

No mate you have totally missed the point. I am not for a second saying DLH is not a tougher fight than Castillo, of course he is.
I am saying how can you pick guys who are that age?

Tsyzu was a tough fight. EVERYONE (bar about 4 people) picked Tszyu. He was not only the man, but had destroyed Mitchell ( another guy who you said would beat Hatton). Not one person said Tsyzu was too old or past it, because we had seen what he had done.

Now a few years on that fight is degraded to the point of meaning nothing by Hatton haters.

My point is that Castillo was a good opponent. Up there with Cotto et al? No chance. But a good opponent? Yes.

To drag up his age when 18 months ago he stone cold KO'd Corrales, then won his next fight and basically had one bad performance at a new weight against a guy he could not get interested in is simply crazy.

Look at Calzaghe against Salem or Ashira. Look at DLH against Sturm as opposed to Mayorga.

Castillo is not prime. But he is is not shot if we judge it off evidence.

But all you guys do is bring up that he is 33. That is why I want to know why DLH and Baldomir are okay. Because if he fought either of them, I am sure you and JLC etc would be slating him for fighting another old man.

Tszyu was (35) , Phillips (39) , Pendelton(38 ), Oliveira(36) , Tackie(30) , Maussa(34) , Castillo(33) .

You might say your point still stands and that all of them other then Tackie were still old . I'd say someone should get their facts(age of boxers) right before even starting to try and argue something .
