Im American, and I think Joe Calzaghe is THE MAN. Now, I don't wish he was American, never thought that way. Americans go for the best, because, my friend, we are the best. I think you would be surprised how many Americans like Calzaghe, it's a huge silent majority.
Even if we were being extremely kind and considered the club brawler Miranda and Zuniga who has never actually done anything worth a **** as better than Manfredo the calculation would work out... Manfredo is better than 90.9090909% of the names on Pavlik's resume How embarrasing is that for slaphead? These people that continually deride Calzaghe's comp need to look way closer to home.
joe is a fighter who is spent his career fighting mandatorys and living like a school child following who his promoter told him to fight! instead of doing anything he could to gain the defining fight during his prime, i dont know why he took on the fearless peter manfredo, or sakio bika, after his lacy victory! but joe calzaghe is a fighter who did defeat a old hopkins which i can understand why people critize him but even so 20 title defences and wins over kessler , eubank and hopkins will look good on anybodys resume in 30 years time, but i have always felt that joe calzaghes hype is crazy and you can understand how and why he is hyped but you can also respect him from what he has done in his career
and the thread has officially been shot down I'm a big fan of Calzaghe but some of his supporters are blind. And i couldn't care less if he was american.
Jermain Taylor is better than at the very least 95.5555555% of the names on Calzaghe's (only possible better ones are maybe Kessler and Hopkins) Another **** post exposed.
No one gives a flying **** if Calzaghe was American. Were fight fans not necessarily nationalists like you other fanatics.
What you are failing to realise is that Manfredo would not even make the top 10 of Calzaghe's opposition, and vice-versa Manfredo makes the top 4 (3) in Pavlik's. Manfredo is ****, as we know. So my real point was to expose both the lack of depth in Pavlik's shitty resume and also to highlight the blatant hypocrisy that prevails.
Yeah, and he might get his ass whooped in those 5 years, we can't predict the future. Or actually I can, and I'm telling you he'll get his ass whooped by numerous fighters, but we can't judge him on what hasn't happened. I've not seen anybody question Pavlik's shitty resume, and specifically the horrible lack of depth. Not once. He has wins over only one top level fighter, MAYBE one B level being extremely generous to Miranda and then some trash that does not even qualify as B. He's had 34 fights.
I,m sure there is some people who think like that. i am not a huge Calzaghe fan ( but he really impressed me against Kessler). Fact: He slaps. Fact: Only "on his prime" good fighter he fought is Kessler.
Yeah I think the manner in which Pavlik comes through B-hop will tell us something. At least we'll have a common yardstick to measure the two fighters against, if they don't fight (which hopefully they will).
