Pavlik is a crude slugger and he ain`t even great at that. A bout with JC was touted to Taylor and he and Manny nearly ran a mile!:yep
Boll*cks,JC new what could happen in the US when there were 3 American judges. We still remember the Lennox Lewis robbery.
Joe Calzaghe World Championship Reign: OCTOBER 1997 TIL NOW (10 years, 10 months) Kelly Pavlik World Championship Reign: SEPTEMBER 2007 TIL NOW (11 months) Joe Calzaghe has been competing at world title level for AN ENTIRE ****ING DECADE longer than Kelly Pavlik, and blinkered blind Calzaghe fanboys like you are actually acting like it is a great achievement that his resume MIGHT, and I mean MIGHT, be slightly better. What a desperate and idiotic bunch. But, of course, us objective boxing fans knew this already. Laughable, as ever.
Yes, only daft people from Birmingham would sneer at Calslappy sack-swingers suggesting it's OK to compare Calslappy to Ray Leonard, obviously :nut
end of the day......... Calzaghe's Resume maybe slightly weak, but he's still held the belt for 10 years and 10 months chap. He'll retire undefeated, and i think yeah he'll beat pavlik too along the road to retirement. pavlik has fought Miranda..........um B- grade fighter - another overhyped mofo Taylor..........ok dubiously beat hopkins twice, must have been a dibella bung in the first fight, then decided to go away and fight blown up welters to bolster his record whilst running faster than Bolt away from Calzaghe and finally the superstar Gary Lockett............legend of the ring so yeah that equals to Pavliks Resume being 10 times stronger than Joes
Think it out, boys: Calzaghe signs up for Jones and then retires...?? Do you think he really wants to fight Pavlik? As a last fight, for prestige and money, wouldn't the Pavlik be the natural fight rather than a has-been like Jones? No, Cal-baby wants no part of Pavlik, who would bang him from pillar to post, and, by the end of the fight--he'd batter him so hard that he'd probably wittle down to a welterweight!
Lacy was a great win at the time, Kessler was great win and Hopkins was a great win. In retrospect Bika was a good win. Manfredo was a joke. It was not a superb period, but he did fight three very risky fights.
i can understand why people hate on joe, however there was alot of hype over jeff lacey when he fight came here to fight him, joe destroyed him and hes never looked the same again, there was alot of hype over kessler not giving joe a shout to win the match up, joe beat him. and now joe is coming to the end of his carear and trying to make the big bucks he somewhat deserves fight hopkins n jones, now a new fighter has arrived, pavlik, people belive he will destroy joe aswell just like they said lacey and kessler would, now im not saying joe will beat him because he is knocking on abit now but if he did there would be calls of how a new fighter would arrive and joe will be called a chicken for not fighting him(abraham perhaps). Joe aint the greatest fighter ever but i think people are just abit too critical on him all of a sudden since pavlik arrived. who wasnt even known amungst the mild boxing fans until he took out a badly overmatched lockett lol
i don't think its something you called hate. Lewis was also british for example but people from different countries including America appreciate his greatness. People just call it as they see it...not hating imo
Me too. Calzaghe v Pavlik would a great fight I think. A far better way to bow out than this farce with Roy Jones.
