Hate to say it.. but Kessler seems like the type of fighter to ruin his career.

I, like everyone else was hoping he'd come back from the Calzaghe loss stronger than ever, but it doesn't seem like that's the case, does it?

Why the hell not take the fight with Miranda? Sure Miranda's not a HUGE name, but to boxing fans in America he is a recognizable name, and it would've atleast given Kessler a little bit of notoriety with American fight fans with a win over such a fighter. It would've also given people something to compare.. you know.. " Well Pavlik beat Miranda, but damn.. Kessler just whooped that ass! ". This would've been a perfect tune-up fight, but instead wants to go after the paper championship of a fighter who he not already outclassed, but on top of that.. the said fighter as of recently doesn't even have an interest in rematching him as it seems.

So where the hell does Kessler go from here?

Kessler's people are fools...going after Mundine (who he already KOed) is stupid. A Miranda fight would have the prefect way for Kessler to set up a fight for one of the titles he lost to Calzaghe (as opposed to that pointless "regular champion" title Mundine was given by the WBA). Hell, he really proved Miranda to be not at all a loudmouth, but just a guy who wants the biggest fights. It makes Kessler, who has long had that image, just seem to be just a little bit of *****.

He didn't KO Mundine, he won a decision. AND Mundine is a BETTER fighter than Miranda with a belt and ranked higher as well. What is this crap with Miranda. He beat Porras and Banks, two guys who weren't even top 20, and now he expects to fight the #1 SMW outside of Calzaghe, he's the dumbass.

It was stupid to agree to a fight and then pull out, but screw Miranda, he's just a loud mouth. Kessler-Mundine is much more attractive or he could fight for the LHV vacated belt that Green just left.

There are alot of "Better" fighters then Miranda but Miranda posseses what they dont.. RAW POWER and ability to knock you out cold with one punch! That's what Kessler is scared of. He's not scared he's gonna be outboxed.. He's scared hes gonna be seriously hurt or knocked out cold by Miranda.. That's the bottom line.

I would have loved to see the fight between miranda and kessler, but lets be serious. Kessler has no reason whatso ever to fear miranda, he went to wales and fought calzaghe for **** sake. Not exactly timid.

Yeah but beating Calzaghe would have made him the man, that is a risk worth taking. While I agree he should fight Miranda the risk vs reward is as good as Calzaghe

I disagree that his priority should be to pander to the kind of 'boxing fans in America' who think that only fighters who they've seen on TV can possibly be any good.

I cannot believe how people have rallied behind Miranda. It just amazes me. The guy's got a highlight reel of knockouts over ESPN2 fighters like Willie Gibbs and David Banks and that makes him the second coming. His raw power really helped him out against Abraham and Pavlik didn't it? Posts like these about Kessler are just indirect shots at him for pulling out of the fight with Miranda. If you wanna talk about ruining careers look no further than Miranda's stupid ass. The guy got so caught up in taunting Jermain Taylor that he didn't focus on the opponent he WAS fighting in Kelly Pavlik. Clear-cut example of overlooking your opponent and paying for it. A victim of his own personality.

ONE punch knockout power. No one would tell you that Miranda is a better fighter then Calzaghe, but he is a dangerous fighter. More dangerous then Calzaghe or Mundine. It was a fight that Kessler should have won, but it has risks. Risks that Kessler wouldnt face vs Mundine nor did he face them vs Calzaghe. You see it Kessler lost to Mundine it would be bad, but not as bad as losing to Miranda. Unlike Mundine Miranda would have to win one round in order to win the fight. He could be down 10 rounds after 10 and then BOOM lights out in the 11th.

Very few people actaully thought that Miranda was going to win the fight, but we wanted to see how Kessler would handle the fight. How would he fight knowing that he couldnt make a mistake, knowing that his defense had to be there right to the end of the fight.

Firstly he should have just got in the ring with anyone and hammered them to look impressive and stay active.

And then look to 'real' opponents.

That a not particularly active Calzaghe is having a fight before a should be active Kessler is very bad.

Maybe you shouldnt bring up the AA fight, not really a good one to use in this case.

Miranda put himself back by losing a couple of fight yes....But he did that IN the ring. Kessler is fukking up outside of the ring.

There is really not way to spin this in good light for Kessler. You can bad mouth Miranda until next April and it wouldnt change the fact that Kessler is avoiding the fight. He mad the deal and then backed out. As I have stated many times it isnt his first time doing it. He called out Lacy, sending letters to boxing websites and the whole 9. Lacy called him on it and said lets fight. Kessler backed down claiming an injury.

He is getting the not looking very good to many of us in the the USA. Its one thing to avoid elite fighters but second tier guys like Lacy and Miranda??? Not so good.

I agree, and I doubt that many would have had a problem with Kessler fighting a bum. HOWEVER he made the deal to fight Miranda then back out, really without a reason. He wasnt even sure that he would get a fight with Mundine, and from what I have heard Mundine is still fighting Soliman.

No one, except idiots, would have a problem with the previously undefeated Kessler having a come back fight against a journeyman. The longer he goes without a win the more his confidence will suffer when he does step in against a live opponent. It's no shame to losing to Calzaghe. But it is a shame to stumble around for your next fight.
