what's the problem if white people root for the white guy? or if blacks root for the black guy? and so on...this fight won't cause that much drama...

 

yup, that **** sells fights, and it is unfortunate. Like some1 said be4 if the fight is a ppv the whole race thing will be brought up somehow. For better promotion. If its free then it prolly wont be brought up

 

"Some guys???" Come on. That is most people. Also, that part about "especially in America" --- do you really think if the fight was in Nigeria that many Nigerians would be pulling for the white guy? If the fight was in Russia, how many Russians would be pulling for the black guy? That is the world we live in. And before I hear from that Nigerian Gerry Coonie fan, yes... I realize what I am say is not a 100% absolute rule.

Its one thing for people to feel how they feel and root for whatever makes them tick, it's another TO INJECT that fuel and strike the match surrounding a Boxing event. Unless it comes from the fighters, the media should keep an even keel.

That's just you're thinking. Any real boxing fans would love to see this fight without the 'race crap" being included in the HYPING.

It sells because a good white american fighter are like bigfoot, you hear stories but you never really see any. So when one comes along White America gets so excited, it can hardly be held in.

On one hand I doubt that Pavlik will win, I think that Taylor will prove to be too skilled, too good, and has shown that he will fight when fought. We dont know that of Pavlik. BUT on the other hand as a boxing fan, I would love to see Pavlik win...WHY??? Because a win by Pavlik will mean something that hasnt happened in 37 years when in 1970 Billy Backus lucked out and landed a haymaker on Jose Napole, A WHITE AMERICAN UNDISPUTED BOXING CHAMPION. And boxing would be BACK on the big stage, mark my words, its what has killed boxing in the States.
