Pavlik/taylor would be a race war if pavlik was more popular. I live in America.. White boys are and always were waiting for a great WHITE all american Fighting champ. Thats why they LOVE the UFC. And pretty much gave up on boxing. They see themselves in a ring whooping ass. So naturally they will cling to it. But after Two black guys came in there and demolished two of there favorite fighters. There is a void in the young american white mans world. I mean if you watch a UFC fight the white guy watching will always go with the white guy in the ring. No matter the obstacle before him. Period. It is racist in a way but not full fledge racism. If you just pulled up in your car and you see a black guy and a white guy fighting on the street. First you are going to say HOLY ****. The white guy is fighting back. If your black you are hoping in the back of your mind that the black guy whoops his ass as he represents black men in that episode. White men are hoping that the black guy gets his ass whooped as well so they can brag to there friends on that **** for weeks. White guys are racist by nature b/c they think they are the alpha male.. In the workplace. It is the same way. You better not ever act like or show that you know more then your white boss b/c you are shooting yourself in the foot. All this being said. neither fighter is hot enough right now for the racism to spread A la cooney/holmes. Or cheating elbow throwing ass marciano/ against an old half retired joe louis.

So true. I remember one time I was walking down Market street and I saw this black guy fighting this white guy. Inside I was cheering for the black guy. The black guy was whoopin ass. Then all of a sudden the white guy pulled out a gun, and that was the end of that.

damned guns. I hate guns...that **** is for wimps I am sorry. I mean if you are fighting you can heal.. A little harder to heal from bullet wounds to the head. I am from B-more..we are a little more grimey then philly in that area...THE WIRE IS REAL....thats all I have to say. Every year we break the homicide record for the prior year. More *****s die here from murder then in small third world countries damn near. We are keeping up with the genocidal crazy african nations.:gun :gun :gun :gun :gun :gun :beat :beat :beat :beat :beat :naughty :naughty :naughty :naughty :naughty :naughty

The sense I get, for whatever that's worth without knowing the man, is that Pavlik could care less about stirring up racial tension. Half the reason we saw Toney and Briggs start in with that garbage was because they had to hype themselves, knowing deep down that their physical problems were likely to stop them. Pavlik already has all the tools he needs to give Taylor his toughest fight yet. He doesn't need to rally the trailer parks for help.

I know Pavlik has a good pop in both hands. For real power. He is dangerous and can take a punch. But Taylor will beat him on speed. If he keeps his stamina up. He will not be a human punching bag like miranda.

This post is ignorant on so many counts its not even worth mentioning all of them.

What in the **** are you talking about?

White people have given up on boxing bc they have no one to root for? Look at the heavyweight division. Who is the most dominant fighter in that division, the long time most prized division in all of boxing. :deal

White guys are racist by nature? Ahhhhhhh. Coments like these make you seem to be the racist, after all you are generalizing the characteristics of an entire race, arent you?

Like it or not the guy has some points. He didnt say WHITE people he said White Americans, which is different then a White european. Just think about Mesi and W Klit. Which one is more popular here in the States??? Its Mesi by a landslide. Hell if you were to watch a mainstearm sports show they dont know Wlad from Vitali. I was watching the SportsReporters the other day on ESPN and they spoke of the Klits as those 7 foot Brothers from Germany, then talked about needing Mesi to regain his form and become the new Mike Tyson.

Translation---We want to root for a WHITE AMERICAN, with the key word being American.

you two need to settle down before you get this thread locked up, or deleted.

C-Money your a fool if you think that a Euro White will ever get the same hype as a White American in the states. As far as Prison goes--Well I have never been so i will have to take your word for it. However White Europeans have suffered prejudges in the States as well.

My point holds, if W. Klit was from Chicago he would be gettin soooooo much hype right know it wouldnt be funny. We would see him on TV every hour.

I get your point, but if W. Klit was Walter Johnson from Chicago, we'd see him on TV every hour, too. If you look at it, Foreman, Holyfield, and Tyson were easily the 3 most popular heavyweights in the late 80's/90's. None of them were white, and they've all had huge mainstream exposure. Lennox Lewis was basically the Wlad of his era publicity wise- an afterthought in the States because he's not American, and I think unfairly so. The difference is today there aren't any American heavies with the star power to play the foil to Klitschko today the way Holyfield, Tyson, and to a lesser extent Mercer, were there for Lennox. Without both sides, the hype isn't going to be there because there's no known product for the US "fans" to compare the current guys to. I don't like that that's the way the game's played, but it is regardless.

If it were 25 years ago, you'd probably be pretty accurate with the whole white hype thing from what I've heard (I'm too young to have witnessed it firsthand), but times aren't like that now.

Any US heavyweight that can knock people out (even if they're bums) is going to get hyped up. Color's taken a seat far, far, far behind ethnicity and the thirst for excitement to the point where I don't think it's an issue for most fans now.

    Internet badasses are awsome.

Bottom line: Some people will always make race an issue. I don't, and I think most reasonable people don't. The world and the country has changed a lot since Jack Johnson's days, and even a lot since the days of Holmes-Cooney (which was hyped as a race battle, but most fans didn't see it that way).
