Hating on Hopkins? (Why I think Bernard wins)

As long as Hopkins' timing is right and he stays a step ahead of Dawson he can take this. Would really be impressed if he makes this look like Tarver 2 but could happen though I doubt it. May the best man win and hopefully he retires win or loss. Fighters like Hopkins don't just pop up they're very rare. Great fighter with great career no matter what happens tonight. Hoping he pulls it off but will root for him.

 

If Hopkins still looks good (win, or lose), why not fight on! Obviously only he knows if he can keep going or not. . .

If he wins, I think he really might fight Cleverly in a soccer stadium in Wales. . . IF the money is right for him. . . If he loses, I think he wants to take a stab at cruiserweight; maybe Tarver again? Or another belt holder - maybe even Lebedev (would be HUGE business in Russia), Wlodarcyzk (doubt him, cause he doesn't really bring money to the table), or Huck in Germany (HUGE business as well). .. Cunningham in an ALL PHILADELPHIA SHOWDOWN?!

SJS19, Hopkins gat to promote breaks and slow down the pace by making him hesitate or else always be alert to counter him hard and cause an impression early if he doesn't hesitate to come in faking the double jab. Dawson's mindset is extremelly important but Hopkins gat to be first and he must unleash that shot not jabbing his way in but countering even with the jab when the guy is outa position, not when he is upright, far away at his range and left hand covering his leftfield like Nard covers his rightfield like the throwback and old school he is... Now how important is to slow down the pace? Bernard's making most use of the legs 12 rounds long is a mistake at this stage no doubts about it even if this is his last hurrah and he's coming with the right weight. Reflexes are a lil bit far from his own best and Chad is fast to make the most of it. So I would walk around a bit when he is reseting and promote clinches inside at all possible costs... If he's pushing you back hard, you always find a space to tie him up and catch your breath back. Nard gat to spend at least 40% of each round avoiding him to move, punch or smother him but if he gets lazy and stands still himself, then better. That will also pisss him off which is part of the plan. The rest I have said it a thousand times and Nard knows much better, left foot outside his right foot, step on it when you come like JMM did to Pac, tuck his chin always behind the left shoulder and one side presented to him, left hand relaxed to jab, sneak right tag him or hook fast and so that he can't have an idea of distance when he or you time in, spin at the corners to make him reset positions at all times and so on.

No better win he could get in this time other than Dawson. Bute should stick to Ward after he should beat Froch and by then that's '13. Hopkins somehow keeps fooling father time but it's still affected his strength, durability, and reflexes. Not enough to stop him but I hope he retires on top which he would if he does so after beating Dawson assuming he does. Hope so....

after that fight i said Hopkins was ripe to lose and was gonna lose Dawson 1, by the circumstances we never saw a good end

Hopkins is off a lay off, is older, slower, and etc

Dawson is prime, angry, motivated, determined and already has been in the ring with hopkins enough to remove those sorts of nerves

ppl on here say Dawson is out psyched and mentally shows weakness

I dont think so if anything Dawson pushing Hopkins out of clinches shows he is not a Pascal or anyother fighter who allowed themselves to be bullied or man handled

Dawson isnt taking Hopkins **** and unlike Pascal will not gas or tire and has a much higher work rate

Dawson work rate will put Hopkins in trouble much like Taylor and Joes work rate gave him trouble

Unless Dawson turns in as bad of a performance as he did vs Pascal he is gonna win
