...it seems this is a bit like all those students who turned their backs on Oasis as soon as they got famous. "I'm too cool to like what those plebs who know nothing like, so I'm going to bang on about Edwin Valero down the pub instead so i'll look dead clever about boxing". Yes watching the same **** over and over again gets boring, but that's only because they're trying to market Hatton to a non-boxing audience. We should be glad that a boxer has managed to get a bit mainstream. Just my two penn'orth.
Problem with the analogy is that Oasis did become **** after the first album and a couple of other singles but I agree with your point re Hatton.
Sorry, I have always hated Hatton: the boxer, not the man. I just think his style in the ring looks terrible. I could expand on this argument, but I have already done so in numerous threads and have no wish to keep repeating myself.
Whats the story morning glory was in no way a **** album!! Wonderwall, whats the story, dont look back in anger, champage supernova??!??!?!
I have no problem with that. It's a boxing reason and not because you don't like the way he cameaccross in the 400th documentary you watched.
..careful now, I don't want one of my very rare threads about actual boxing getting booted to the lounge
I do not hate Hatton and I do not want him to lose. I also do not mind his personality but I am still disapointed in him fighting Lazcano and I am still abit disapointed on how his career went in America. He can change my mind on how I view him and I hope he does. I think the thing that pisses me off is I hate the fact I have to ship out £15 to see him fighting a dud while at the same time he is saying he is doing this for the fan's. I am also pretty tired of his jokes and stories and Billy Graham et al talking ****. I find Hatton nauseating in the same way that when people shout "garlic bread".
I used to think he was a genuinely decent bloke but since he "beat Kosta" it's been obvious how fake he is.
I never liked him to begin with, so no backtracking here. What he does behind the scenes is of no concern, its his condunt within the sport that does my tits in. I haven't watched that 'home with the Hattons' ****, as it's nothing to do with boxing. If he's talking shite in boxing related interviews then it should be highlighted. Ray Hatton is even worse for talking bollocks and outright lying. On top of that I hate his boxing style, and it's toe-curling to hear him compare himself to Chavez, Duran and Gatti for excitement. The Witter ducking. The excuses after losing. Infact from a strictly boxing perspective, I don't see anything to like about him. Just my 2 cents.
That's Sky's decision. They own the rights to his fights so they can do whatever they want with them. They could stick on Sky Box Office, Sky Sports, Sky One or even Sky Movies if they wanted to. And on top of that, they could charge whatever they wanted to. It's a fact that they offered Witter his biggest ever payday though, isn't it?
First I'm cool wether I hate Hatton or not, I don't BTW. I do however hate the suggestion that people only dislike Hatton because they think they're "too cool to like what those plebs who know nothing like" That is just pathetic, maybe people dislike him because of his god awful style? Maybe it's because he HAS avoided Witter like the plague, don't mention Bradley as he only just beat Junior and Ricky has denied his existance a long time before that defeat. Maybe it's because that now ricky is somewhat mainstream he's being shoved down everyones throat? Or maybe like me, some people are just annoyed that if they want to see rickys homecoming fight, which BTW is for us fans, we have to pay £15, even funnier is they keep mentioning the IBO like they mean anything :rofl
Who'd decision was it to fight Lazcano? Sky as well? I would have paid the money if he had been fighting a good opponent. Hatton may as well have just sold the rights to him doing a big **** for what this fight is worth.
