That has nothing to do with someone who appears to be an affiliate of Team Peterson, talking to commissioners and handling judge slips when he shouldn't have been. Khan could have been knocked down in each round, done cartwheels midway and flashed his knob every 60 seconds in that ring. None of that matters. That's not what this issue is about. It's about the rules and procedures being broken outside the ring, which could have had an effect on the officiating.
You see what you want to see. Peterson was going in low so he could go to Khan's body. You notice he wasn't going in low in the 1st couple when he was trying to match Khan on the outside. He didn't fight in the middle of the ring because Khan couldn't stand his ground, he either fell back, allowed himself to be pushed to the ropes, or ran. Boxed circles around him? Ran circles around him maybe...... no, actually. Either way, probably not a good idea to ask someone what fight they were watching when you are so obviously see the fight thru Khan's glasses. For the record, I scored the fight a draw.
The fact that anyone even has to make excuses for Khan against Peterson surely speaks volumes about his ability.
Uk and I like Hatton, Calzaghe, Skelton, Barrera, Tyson, Lewis, etc too many to name but they are a few of my all time favourites.
Regardless of your opinion on Khan and who did or didn't win (I thought Peterson deserved the nod), this is blatantly against the rules, and an immediate rematch should be issued. A lot of you are just letting your Khan hatred blind your objectivity on the matter.
DUDE - Na I thought it was an even close fight and that Khan deserved a rematch (as I said in my first post on the thread) and Peterson said he'd fight him but since Khan's been such a **** I'd just take on Pac for more money instead.
Tbh I think this wasn't dodgey considering the guy wasn't a member of the Peterson camp and wasn't talking to the judges just the WBA commisioner. I think Khan could win a close one in a return but he's still massively over rated and I don't get how white brits are racist if we don't cherish him as a p4p atg.
Fair enough. I think the rules should be enforced though, and this should be used as an example to send out a message that if ANYTHING illegal is suspected, the appropriate action will be taken immediately. An immediate rematch in a neutral venue is called for I think, and if Peterson beat him again fair and square he would erase any doubts about who deserves to be champ. Also it was a ****ing great fight and I want to see a part 2 sooner rather than later, so that's a plus too.
^this & ^this No-one is calling robbery, but its clearly a ****ed up result which cannot be defended as 100% fair or legitimate. IBF & Hat Man have turned an entertaining fight into an embarassing farce. Worst of all they will cost Peterson his belts & his W.
