He would if he had seven more pounds leeway. And in case you haven't heard, this fight is at 147 and Hatton has fought nearly his whole career at 140 atsch (expect for his fight against Collazo where he looked slow and bulky).
If your plan is to fight at above 147, why would you weigh in a single ounce more than 147? Fighters cut water-weight, the less they have to do the better, to cut anywhere below the exact limit is foolish.
I think HAtton should come in at 143 or 144, because of course by fight night he will be over 150. COming in on the dot at 147, means on fight night he will probably be 155 or so, which will slow him down. He is only like 5'6, those extra pounds aren't going to help.
No...if he puts on 12-13 pounds in one day that is going to be very bad for him - it would mean he either dehydrated massively for no reason whatsoever or that he will put on too much excess weight (not muscle)...better to weigh in at 147 and only put on 5 pounds - it will show he hadn't dehydrated and that his body is in peak condition. (as much muscle mass as possible, undehydrated.
:-( You just don't get it do you? Anything below what Hatton plans on walking into the ring at, is sweat, its water. So going to 143 would mean he is cutting 4 extra pounds of sweat, for no reason at all. Have you ever made weight for anything?
