    A simple thread to pay tribute to those that die (and may still die) in the most tragic bushfire Australia has experience in recorded history.

    And to vent anger on those carelesly resposible for this mess...

    even though im in switzerland id be interested in donating. but first a few things, if any of u could answer them for me.
    1. What exatly will the donation be going towards? (this is vry iportant to me if I am to give up my hard earneds...)
    2. I cant call 1800 numbers from overseas, so whats the alternative?

    "to assist individuals and communities affected by devastating bushfires in Victoria...
    ...An independent panel made up of community leaders will oversee the appeal Fund's operation. Criteria for assistance will include the extent of the hardship covered and the extent to which a person's livelihood has been impacted."

    Thats important to me coz if the money goes towards some shitty fire prevention program or awareness program bla bla etc etc im not interested. All the money in world wont be able to stop some fool lighting a fire or throwing a lit *** out the window...

    some horrific stories being told on the news about this this morning, ****en heart breaking stuff.... i know he is a nerd and its prob a bit of a publicity stunt but it was ****ing good to see Kevin Rudd down there. For some reason i couldnt picture little Johnny hugging people :rofl

    I have just gotten off the phone after making a donation. My only hope is that it doesn't go towards rebuilding houses of those people who didn't insure there houses. Help everyone out in as many ways as possible with emergency accomadation food clothing medical bills funeral costs anything they need rebuild community facilities by al means but if you didn't insure your biggest assest I dont see why i should now compensate you for your foolhardiness. I dont want to come across as calus as i gave quite a bit but i want this money spent where it should be

    HMMM.... I'm sorry for missing this thread, and appearingly stealing glory for posting my own. Watching and listening to the news has been quite frustrating, hence I missed this thread.

    All Firefighters, volunteers and folk with nothing more than a garden hose create such a feeling of humbleness in us.

    True heroes.
