Some of the comments on this thread are a complete joke! Jennings gave it his best shot and had good tactics (keep moving and try and tire out Cotto). Unfortunately he just didn't have the power to earn his respect and stop him coming forward. There's no shame in that, Cotto is still a monster at that weight. I'm sure Jennings will go on to win some good fights at domestic and European level.:thumbsup
I can't believe Jennings didn't use the 3 months in the run up to the fight to develop a Tommy Hearns type right cross and use it to flatten Cotto with..........what a missed opportunity.
Or developed Mayweather like reflexes to frustrate and out-point Cotto. He could have gone to the swimming baths more to do this.
I have seen a bit of Jennings and all I would say is that the fight went pretty much like I thought it would. Unfortunately the only chance he hafd was if he could outbox Cotto but like I felt he would not be able to and Cotto would get to him and it would be all over. Is Jennings brave and did he show heart? Yes he did but fighters do so I would not say his efforts were exceptional but yes I take off my hat to him. Deep down I don't think even his team thought he could win
the white boots,it was the pink thong you and warren used to wear for good luck whilst fighting, even i had one on in the crowd, but forgot to put me pants on , i was that pissed
Look jennings didn't do much but just moved alot and when he did try to do something he gets banged to shits until he stop trying, then he was just in survival. But atleast he didn't do a paulie malingnagi and hold on for dear life.
