I hear they're picking up the Bute-Andrade which up until now had no place on US-tv. Showtime continues to distinguish itself as being superior to HBO in that they strive for legitimate matchups and fights to provide for the true boxing fan. You won't find Showtime pushing for a ridiculous circus act fight between a lightweight and a middle weight. :nutcase
Agreed on all accounts. Showtime produces fights that matter in the boxing world. Another great one coming up is Tarver/Dawson. HBO seems to produce freak shows of late.
Props to Showtime for spotting an outsider but good fight to broadcast ! I see Bute putting on the type of performance Kessler did against Andrade.
i would say its almost 100% certain, they have been promoting it already during the last few broadcasts (by promoting, i mean putting it on the bottom of the screen in between rounds)
Dan Rafael has a blog about Shobox picking the fight up on ESPN.com. He mentions that Ronald Hearns may be in the co-feature if he doesn't get a title shot against Verno Phillips.
