Hopkins continued to be a top three light heavy for five years after losing to Calzaghe and even claimed lineage along the way. Despite being past prime it was still a huge a win.

    Hatton is vastly underrated.

Hopkins being over the hill was something people claimed after he lost...

In hindsight this proved to be stupid as he went on to win the lineal LHW claim against Pascal while also picking up excellent wins against Pavlik, Cloud, and Murat.

Calzaghe and Jones were both over the hill when they fought. Calzaghe was just more adaptable to his limitations and maybe always had a better gas tank. Joe smartly retired while Jones kept on fighting and losing.

Hatton's signature wins are not immune to such claims. Tsyzu in particular was over the hill.

That is true, despite the fact that Calzaghe was actually good and Hatton was not. It is ironic.

Strong debates for either fighter. I'd say that, simply because of names, Calzaghe's wins over Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins (even though they were slightly faded) means he has the better resume. When you dissect Hatton's best wins, I don't think they were all world level fighters.

Joe has the better/deeper resume, but Ricky was far more ambitious.

Roy Jones wasn’t slightly faded, he was completely finished as a top level fighter.

They both had terrible resumes for how long they was active for in their respective divisions.

They both have a great name each on their resumes, but those guys were shot to pieces.

I think Hatton 5 best are (faded) Tszyu, Urango, Malinaggi, Maussa (who was somehow title-holder due to Harris was over-trained) and maybe Tackie or Stewart.

Castillo not, he was average in Light-Welterweight (like Corales) and got a gift against Ngoudjo, who dominated him in the second half, to make this Las Vegas showdown possible (like Sturm vs. de la Hoya to make Hopkins vs. de la Hoya afterwards).
