Golden Boy will formally announce Saul Alvarez vs Matthew Hatton on Friday for March 5. Sent out a notice about the press conference.

Matthew Hatton is a credible fighter. By no means a scrub. But anyone who wants to be a multiple Champion cant lose to him.

    Alvarez Ko 4

Alvarez won't have any trouble. Hatton can't punch and isn't big enough to handle him. He's a regional level fighter and that's it. A very baby step-up in competition for Alvarez.

This goes to the late rounds if not the distance. Hatton is not garbage, he is quite good at dictating pace and his skills are above average.

    Might surprise some of you.

I'm betting most of the people criticizing him haven't watched him fight and only know him as the (laugh) possible Mayweather opponent a while back.

TBH I've only seen a few of his fights, including his last two, but I was impressed. Not the greatest of competition but Canelo's resume isn't that strong yet, either.

I don't think he has a good enough chin to go 12 but this should be pretty competitive while it lasts. Canelo TKO9 in a good fight.

Good response. I think you are right that many have not even seen his recent bouts. It should be interesting to watch but I doubt Hatton gets stopped early on, like most people are saying, if he does then that's a credit to Alvarez.

I think this could be a good fight.

I think skill wise, they are not that far apart. Alvarez is way tougher though, and he hits a lot harder but it's not gonna be a cake walk for Saul.

alverez looks strong, and poweful, but slow, and no idea how his chin is.

matton can box a bit,has good body shots, will be intrestin to see how this fight plays out.
