(the News of the world reports)AMIR KHAN has given the green light to a £50million showdown with Ricky Hatton, booming: Let’s get it on.

‘The Hitman’ revealed in Sport of the World last weekend that he would be willing to face the 2004 Olympic silver medallist.

A fight between the pair next summer would be the biggest in British boxing history and draw a 100,000 crowd to Wembley Stadium.

Hatton, admits his career is coming to an end, but knows a farewell fight against Bolton’s sensation would be an amazing retirement party.

It would be the biggest British fight ever.

Prime Hatton would break down Khan I think but this version of Hatton makes it a very close fight IMO.

He should be calling out Juinor Witter now and lets see what happens

Should have happened before but pointless fight now.

As far as domestic fights go Khan is the one. Witter offers absolutely nothing now.

Don't think this fight would be bigger than Benn/Eubank II for the Super Middleweight unification. Both guys were proven champions. In this case Hatton's a proven champion at 140, and thus far Khan has only proven he can stop has-beens and never-wases, and get floored by smaller men and pillow-fists.

With boxing fans no, with the general public you bet it would, it would be on a diffrent scale from anything seen in the past and will happen, money talks, this will be why sky have went back to warren i would guess, the numbers this fight could do would be scary, if 1 million people watched hatton v mayweather at 5 in the morning this could do close to 2 million prime time

Yeah. Nearly 50K people went to see Benn/Eubank, but that fight was actually important for boxing. This fight is pretty much meaningless on the grand scale, but has two fan favorites involved - one of whom is arguably one of the biggest two or three crowd drawers in the sport. I can see it being hugely popular. On the one hand, it makes sense for Hatton to take this fight because of the massive amount of cash that will no-doubt be involved. On the other hand, as far as improving his standing amongst the boxing elite, it does nothing for him. Witter makes sense, but it doesn't make dollars. I'd just rather see Hatton fight Holt, Bradley or Witter, or even D-Hop, than Khan.

this fight shouldnt happen for many reasons, i can assure you that the tension between khan fans and hatton fans would be high and its very possible it could spill out into a riot much like Golota-Bowe 1

Possible but i would rather be a Hatton fan if it did.....theyd out number Khans by as zillion to 1.

Serioulsy though anyone who thinks Khan can hang with Hatton is deluded. Michael Gomez a smaller, lighter punching and all around shitter fighter than Hatton gave Khan all he could handle.

    Hatton in 2,3 or 4.

P.S. Im not saying Gomez is **** just obviously no where near as good as Hatton:good

sounds good......though Khans great, he's a big guy with power speed and most importantly know-how, i wouldn't look past him....plus Hattons not exactly in his prime, but yeah i'll pay to see it if it goes down
