I think he's right, for once. Amir won't be much use in replicating Hatton, that is for sure. However he is pretty good for sharpening reactions and defence I would think.

Ricky must also be forgetting Pacquiao has had the likes of Linares and will be sparring Urbano Antillon also. He isn't short of high quality sparring.

I'd be interested to know who Hatton is sparring with. This fight is going to be pretty incredible.

Yes, Amir would be useless if that was Pacquaio's chief sparring partner. It's not. He's sparring with guys who would strip the paint off Hatton.

I'm sick of his bollocks - one semi-decent performance against a woefully mediocre Malignaggi and suddenly everyone's "oh look - he's changed his style"

No, he hasn't. He was able to do what he wanted against an overrated and underperforming, non-punching poser. That's reality. Hatton hasn't turned in a genuinely impressive performance since beating Tyszu.

Three rounds won't happen (I expect), but Pacquaio will beat Hatton handily. I think another late rounds stoppage. Hatton survived as long as he did against mayweather cause Floyd takes time to figure you out and break you down. Manny uses offense and movement to put you off your game.

Hatton loses this. End of discussion.

This is ridiculous. Hatton can believe what he wants but surely when the rest of the boxing world knows he's sparring the likes of lLinares and Antillion then surely Hatton knows this too, so why start mouthing off about Amir Khan. It makes no sense because anyone who knows boxing knows the truth so once again it sounds like he's preaching to the footie fans a'la the P4P debate. Anybody know who Hatton is sparring yet as i've heard Guzman and Valero ? VALERO ? He's nothing like Pacquaio and neither is Guzman.

This is probably an interview where he has being asked "what do you think of Pac sparring with Khan". I doubt he has just come out with a random rant about Khan.

It was actually in response to an interview with the Daily mirror after the Barrera fight where Khan had stated he was returning to the Wildcard gym to spar Manny in preparation to fight Ricky with a headline along the lines of 'Ricky's next'

Roach had said how great he was for Mannys preparation and If Manny was up to Khans speed Hatton could not live with him.

So Hatton's intitled to give a bit back.

The reason why Roach said he is going to use Khan is for sharpness, not to replicate Ricky but Khan's speed will make Pacman's reactions sharp, and 'when you are sharp you are ready'. Roach

I agree with him but I'm sure Roach is more than aware of this. I'd guess that the sparring was more for Khan's benefit than Pac's and no more than a confidence building exercise.

Khan v Hatton, that's definitely one to whet the appetite. I think there's a good chance it will happen if Hatton loses to Pac and decides to continue his career. A potential disaster for Khan in my opinion. The way I see this fight unfolding is Khan racking up an early lead on the scorecards but getting more and more discouraged as Hatton wades through the onslaught and starts to land meaty body shots of his own. Despite Roach's frantic interventions between rounds he can't stop Khan's anxiety affecting his work. Khan then loses concentration for a split second in or around the midaway stage and gets brutally ko'd

This time there would be no coming back. He would have trained with the best coach in the world psychologically would be crushed and all confidence Roach had worked so hard to build up would be wiped out. My advice to Warren would be to keep your boy quiet on the Hatton issue. Seems to me like Hatton is starting to get really pissed off with Khan and is lining up this fight as a fall back should all go peared shaped against Pac.
